Top Pizza Places

- Pizzeria della Piazza: The best Chicago-style pizza in St. Louis, hands down.

- Pi: Gets consistently rave reviews. I must visit soon.

- Dewey's: I have enjoyed coming here with friends. The pizza is extremely tasty.

- Vito's - Scrumptious gourmet pizza

- Il Vicino: Tasty, wood oven pizza.

- Joanies: Great thin crust

- Fortel's: Amazing mom and pop pizza joint

Great list!

B&T Pizza (I enjoy it and it's conveniently located! I love being able to enjoy pizza without having to buy a whole pie and end up overeating in the process!)

Not so great list!

^ har har. Raccanelli's, which I also like, has pizza by the slice too... (And I know some people dislike it, and that's fine too.)

innov8ion's list should be laminated and attached to fridge doors throughout the City.

No catch on free pizza night -- that's what makes it so great! Lemmons does Monday night "feastivals" where you can eat as much pizza as you want, along with wings and meatballs. It's great. During football season they show the games, and on the off season they show two feature movies. I always buy a couple pitchers of beer to make up for the fact that they're feeding me for FREE!

Is Racenelli's the pizza joint in the Loop? If so, they have a sign up that they are remodeling and are closed up for now.

Except for leaving out Feraros.

Racanellis sucks. I ended up with muddbutt the last three times I ate there. I'd rather eat a cup of lukewarm ramen noodles than a slice of their pizza.

Thought it was Thursday through Sunday? Would help if they had a website...

Domino's and Pizza Hut hardly qualify as "Best Pizza" in StL! Good Heavens!

I would have to say that w/in the city limits Louie's is a top contender, as is St. Louis Chicken & Wings (downtown location only) and Vito's. I personally like Blackthorn, but I know plenty of people who think it's too thick & saucy. I say, "what could be better than thick and saucy." ;^D Tulayna's can be good, depending on the maker. I like the Tulayna's on Gravois near Kingshighway but have gotten both decent and disgusting pizza from the Skinker-DeBaliviere location.

Dewey's is good, but I'm not sure about best, I honestly haven't had enough to determine that. Pizza World is OK (though world's better than Dom & PieHut.) People rave about Joanie's in Soulard, but I thought it was about as good as Dewey's, though, again, I've only eaten there once. Racanelli's Loop location is good NY style, but their CWE location never really drew me back.

There are a lot of places that have great pizza that aren't pizza places, too. I'm thinking of 3Monkeys on Morganford, in particular.

Best!

+1 for Dewey's (get the Dr. Dre)

also Fortel's,

Lou Boccardi's,

Joe Boccardi's,

and Il Vicino.

Those are all about equally my favorite.

Honorable mention for Syberg's/HF, Cicero's, Smugala's, and St. Louis Pizza and Wings, they will do in a pinch.

I'll second Sybergs - granted, I've only eaten at the Affton location, and I've only ever gotten the Brett's Monster (I think it's called Brett's Conglomeration now) but that is some fantastic thin crust pizza.

I honestly never got the love for Fortell's, and I live around the corner from there. I do like their Philly Cheesesteak Pizza, but I think that's because there's something I don't care for about their pizza sauce and it's one of the few pizzas that doesn't have pizza sauce on it.

Only pizza I have had in STL is Imo's, Fortel's, and Pointer's Delivery. Liked all of them so far.

Alfonzo's Pizza. Gotta drive over to Maryville, IL, but its worth it! I've never had anything else quite like it. Square, brick oven, thin but chewy crust...one of my all time favorites.

Technically, cheese on a piece of cardboard is a better value. And probably tastes about the same.

I was just at Fortel's for the first time this weekend and agree completely. I had doubts when I entered the restaurant but their pizza had a crispy thin crust and was packed with ingredients and full of flavor. Excellent!

Can't forget good old Frank & Helen's on Olive in U. City!

Also, isn't Pi (across from the Pageant) supposed to be great? Haven't been there yet.

You don't like StL style pie, we get the point. Your obsession with letting us know that must be keeping you from your work CS. Just let the dead horse be.

Where did I say that? Perhaps you need a reading comprehension course? Ouch, that's embarassing.
