Ok, so what's the best pizza place that delivers to Dogtown? Pointer's is just okay (tastes like a locally-owned places version of Domino's to me).

Never had Elicia's. Anything else?

Nothing really.

I've said it in another thread: Dogtown is lacking of a good pizza place.

I know! I would have loved to see one move in to Chuy's old space...there's other real estate available around there too.

Maybe someday Lehman Place will be full

Perhaps because it's not a pizza parlor, Three Monkeys on Morganford might have the most underrated pizza in town.

^ Yeah? I've been meaning to go there for a little while now. Your claim just bumped it up a couple notches on my to-do list.

That might get me to go back there. We went once and had an awful experience. Bad service, terrible food. And that was after trying to get in there three times and meeting ridiculous wait times.

That's a shame. Three Monkeys is one of my favorite brunch spots in the midst of wintry bike rides.

Ever since they've expanded, I've had a lot better luck with wait times and the service. The longest I've ever had to wait for a table was around 20 minutes. The place has been consistently good for a while now in my experience.

The pizza has a soft, doughy crust, if that's the kind you like. Their bbq is really good too - they always have smokers and bbq pits outside cooking up ribs and other good stuff.

They have good pizza, but I no longer go there. One of the smokiest bars in town. Although, Crossroads right up the street might win that title. I was in there once - the first time and the last time.

Had me some Maurizio's tonight and am reminded every time of why it's my fav in STL...though admittedly I haven't had a whole ton.

Aside from being asked for change for a "slice of pizza" from a bum who just got done purchasing a pint of vodka, it was great food as always.

Not really known 4 their pizza but you all must try Biggies Sienes pizza. Never had any other variety there but it is fantastic, seriously.

I had Racanelli's in the Loop yesterday. VERY good pizza and a very cool restaurant. I hadn't been there since they opened the new place on the Loop. :smt023

I know it has been said over and over, but Black Thorn is one of the best.

Regarding delivery pizza, Elicia's is the best in my opinion.

Surprisingly, a lot of other local bars have great pizza, Riley's, Cusamano's and Joey B's to name a few.

Looks like the "monster" that is Pi killed another pizza place in the Delmar Loop. Racanellis Cucina has paper over the windows and supposedly there's a note on the door about remodelling. Bonwich's forum has a rumor that they're retooling it to a sports bar.

Anyone heard something else?

^If they went out of BIZ I'd be VERY disappointed. That place is very good. The lunch crowd there had really picked up in the past year. They have a good lunch special and the pizza is BIG. Let's hope that this place stays open.

I've seen elsewhere that the Raccanelli's are going to completely change the theme perhaps going to a sportsbar.

As long as they keep the pizza the same, I'll be happy.

Took over the whole market and called it a Cucina. I never visited this particular iteration so I can't comment on food or atmosphere. Clearly it didn't work as a business.

I knew things weren't good when we walked by one Friday night around 8pm and it didn't look too busy inside. A quarter full at best.

They're also remodeling the CWE store (for 4+ months), right?

Yeah, it's been closed since late summer and the remodeling seemed to have been going in fits and starts. Supposedly it reopens Monday (3/8), according to a post on the foodie forum on the P-D site.

I'm not sure when the Delmar restaurant closed down, but they had still been keeping their little "express" counter open for carry out until they papered over the windows last week.
