Oh good. I was just about to ask for confirmation on this one because I'm going there tonight.

Also, Rockin Gators in Affton has a sign stating Light Up Here.

Playoff on Gravois has the 'warning omg smoking everyone panic' sign on the window.

Adding these to the confirmed list.

Even if they went non-smoking tomorrow, I doubt I would go back. In the 20 seconds I was there, I saw three people holding cans of PBR.

And I'm glad to see businesses embrace it.

All 4 bars I have been to since Jan. 2 have been non-smoking and all had quite a crowd.

Now there are some bars I still want to go to that allow smoking and I won't let that stop me, but all things being equal if Bar A has the same music, atmosphere etc. as Bar B and Bar A is non-smoking I will go there.

Last weekend I chanced upon some little place on Grand near Bellerive that had more ashtrays than customers. A bit of a dive, but seemed like a friendly place. Sorry, can't remember the name.

The vast majority are places I've never heard of, never been to, been to once with no plans on returning, or actively avoid (Malles, Silverleaf, Doc Haus, etc). I do hope Milo's reconsiders, although I only go there in the summer, so it's not a big deal. I had planned on checking out The Pour House. I guess that won't be happening.

@ Central Scrutinizer. In regards to your comment about the Silver Ballroom, would it change your elitist views if you knew the owners are Australian? Not just some lowly, underclass, uneducated, PBR drinking South City hoosiers? Just curious.

No.

(And remember, "elitist" is a compliment.)

Felix's is still smoking.

I asked the bartender what's the deal and was told they will smoke until caught at least two times. They are going to cheat the food sales numbers and try to get an exemption in the near future. I guess the City is not checking on these places very well. Sad

Sorry about the intermittent issues with spambots. Just had to delete one from this thread. We're utilizing some scripts to reject known spambots but sometimes new ones sneak through. Will work on improving this.

Can we start another list in this thread for bars that still don't meet fire codes/have asbestos paint/don't have health inspectors come by, or should I start a new thread for that?

It seems like a fair number in the last 2-3 weeks, whereas before that I can't recall the last one. Did something change?

The SNL skits that didn't make it on air called. They want their wit and sarcasm back.
