The area seems to be vacant. When this structure gets lived in possibly there will be a grocer if not more will open in the area.

I do think if all the AHM projects reach fruition and the other smaller rehab projects keep happening, at least a small format grocery will come in

First phase of AHM's $200 million Downtown West proposal to begin in May.
The first phase will be a 74 unit new construction at 2125 Locust and cost $24 million and take 20 months to build. It will also have 3,250 square feet of commercial space. It has a 90% property tax break for 10 years and will inclide 7 units targeted at residents below 60% of the median income.
The second phase will be a 113 unit building at 2100 Washington Ave that will include a 400-spacw parking garage and 8,000 square feet of commercial. This is expected to break ground in the 4th Quarter of 2026 or 1st Quarter of 2027.
The high-rise tower and conversion of two buildings is also still planned, but there is no timeline for when they may begin construction.
