Sounds to me like the perfect height for Downtown West. Not too big. not too small.
Looks great. What's the story on the rest of the buildings around here? Weren't they supposed to start already? Or is everything emanating from D.C. these days just de-railing any established construction plans
The interior looks incredible, I am happy to see this moving forward.

With this location on top of the hill at Jefferson it will represent extremely tall.

Tower is still a 2026 thing. They haven’t applied for a building permit yet and review for that is 5-7 months
Yes ^ and the drawing set that went out for bids is a 50% Design Development Set. The next step for the architects is to develop a Construction Set which could take another 3-6 months. My guess for groundbreaking is summer 2026.

I would say the location is actually at the bottom of a bit of a valley. Huge hill that goes from 20th street all the way to Leffingwell.

Wouldn’t call it a Valley, though I get your point. Generally there is a gradual rise all the way out from River/CBD. The MLS stadium is built into the hill, which this is parallel to. I think from the East and South it will stand much prouder than projected height. Could be wrong? Guess they have to build it…

Hill or not, this will be the tallest building between Downtown and the Central West End. It’ll stick out like a Redwood in a forest of Oaks.
Given the recent news about developments drying up, uncertainty for developers, etc... feels like a super long shot to me

I believe for this project already has incentives approved
My fingers are crossed, but I'm around there frequently and haven't seen anyone on any of the sites. Hope I'm wrong

Are they planning to do the skyscraper first now? I was under the impression that the historic renovations on Locust and infill building on Wash Ave would come first but no movement on either
With the cancellation of The Edison in Milwaukee happening... as they're taking that project's crane down as we speak...I wonder if The 314 Tower stands a chance to claim momentarily the world's tallest mass timber tower title again. I know they're building something bigger in Sydney, Australia.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Nov 07, 2025Are they planning to do the skyscraper first now? As long as it gets built, the timber tower could be the 10th tallest in the world and I'd be perfectly fine with it. Hope to hear some updates on this one in the near future.

There is no construction permit applied for yet, so best case would be next summer start, if at all.
Were these ever issued? Applications were submitted almost a year ago.quincunx wrote: ↑Dec 21, 2024$32.5M building permit application submitted for 2120 Washington.
$15M building permit application submitted for 2151 Locust.
I have heard that they are pretty close with there two smaller projects in the neighborhood which is surprising given their occupancy issues with their properties in the immediate vicinity.EssTeeEll wrote: ↑Nov 07, 2025As long as it gets built, the timber tower could be the 10th tallest in the world and I'd be perfectly fine with it.
