Cardinals shouldn't get a dime until they finish BPV.

CardVault by Tom Brady will be going in where Arch Apparel previous was, likely to open April 10.

Listened to an opening day interview with Bill Dewitt on KMOX, he teased that we will be hearing things about phase the "hopefully soon" and that they are "still working on it"
Sooooo.... don't get your hopes up

The Cardinals are probably going to demand renovation funds for Busch in order to complete BPV.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑2:17 PM - Mar 27Listened to an opening day interview with Bill Dewitt on KMOX, he teased that we will be hearing things about phase the "hopefully soon" and that they are "still working on it"

Looks like Arch Apparel will be closing come February, when their lease ends.
The owner says that he is now the only employee and hasn't paid himself in 2 years and that traffic is down to less than 1 person per day. He says coming to BPV was the "worst decision of my life" and that he's "lost everything" because of it.
He blames the Cardinals drop in attendance and the city's bad reputation. The last Cardinals home game, that had an attendance of 29k, had only 1 person come into his store and buy something.
He also says Cordish's sales pitch is misleading and the increase in taxable sales is misleading because much of it is after his business hours and it doesn't guarantee people will come into his store.
All the other Arch Apparel locations have already closed, but he says the online business is doing well.

I'd be interested to know how Baseballism is doing.

The Tom Brady Card Vault has been a massive hit since it opened.

Watching BDWIII on MLB TV now and he said they are working on a 3rd phase for Ballpark Village (sure) and big stadium renovations that they would like done in the next couple of years.
Yep, He has been saying that now for last 3 years or at least last 2.pdm_ad wrote: ↑12:37 AM - Jun 25Watching BDWIII on MLB TV now and he said they are working on a 3rd phase for Ballpark Village (sure) and big stadium renovations that they would like done in the next couple of years.
Honestly, feel like Downtown/City would be better off if Cordish/Millennium development could announce Class A tenant & ground breaking day along with AHM wood timber tower moving forward at this point. Just feel like DeWitt/BPV literally had the ability to suck all the air out of the development room with its own development/next phase but instead its just more blowing hot air. Now he is starting to prep the public for more subsidies on a stadium rehab by conveniently dangling phase III will happen soon comments..

There has been a lot of people at BPV for World Cup games, I wonder how well they are doing in sales taxes.

Acclaimed chef Kevin Nashan is bringing a modern tavern to Ballpark Village

“The Cordish Cos. has said the incentives are essential for it to pursue $2.5 billion in new Missouri investment that could "basically double" the size of the Power & Light District and Ballpark Village around Busch Stadium, including a $670 million proposal at St. Louis' former Millennium Hotel site.”

This could also include a major renovation of the stadium east garage to include ground floor retail and a new facade to connect Millennium to BPV.

Keep in mind that "doubling the size" of either development is simply building on the last parcels they have. Ballpark Village has those 3 blocks on the north side that's double what's been built. P&L, it's 4 and 5 Light plus some stuff south of 670 (combined square footage of those would be double). This MODESA tool is important to getting both built out and the Millennium Hotel site. Ultimately, Cordish is held back by the Cardinals on Ballpark Village but I have to imagine that something on Two Cardinal Way is on the near horizon.ldai_phs wrote: ↑8:45 PM - Jul 15“The Cordish Cos. has said the incentives are essential for it to pursue $2.5 billion in new Missouri investment that could "basically double" the size of the Power & Light District and Ballpark Village around Busch Stadium, including a $670 million proposal at St. Louis' former Millennium Hotel site.”

Does the passing of the legislation or some other reason suggest to you that Two Cardinal Way is on the near horizon. Marco trends coupled with the proposed development on the millennium site would give anyone pause. Especially an ownership group that didnt pull the trigger when rates were historically low.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑3:42 AM - Jul 16Keep in mind that "doubling the size" of either development is simply building on the last parcels they have. I’m just assuming. I know they have design completed for a second Cardinal Way tower and, whether he’s being truthful or not, Dewitt has said that he would like to build another one soon. Millennium I have concerns about with the scope they’re going for there. But I think both appeal to different clients.STLAPTS wrote: ↑11:58 PM - Jul 16Does the passing of the legislation or some other reason suggest to you that Two Cardinal Way is on the near horizon. ^ Chris, the wording once again is why DeWitt saying something is meaningless, at least to me.. I would like to build a new garage and add a pool in my biackyard soon as well. It is even more convenient for him to state it that way because it comes across as he would but at same time gives him a way to explain that some market condition impeded him when nothing happens. Which is exactly what is going on, nothing.
I just see it as a way to stomach Cardinals ask on more dollars for Busch renovations. Heck in my cynical manner, I can even see DeWitt trying to argue that the state tax credits recently approved should also apply to stadium renovations being part of BPV. That is a winner for city to be even more cynical, Dewitt gets more subsidies for stadium while he would like to build 2CW and in the meantime another downtown nearby continues to sit empty or rots because there only be so many tax credits that can around/split between KC & other MO cities...
