It's really nice to go by at night and see this building lit up. Excited to see it full up and running.

Still saying that.

This is the most exciting redevelopment since Wright Arcade IMO. I can't wait to see this finished.

Hotel Jefferson was the 1904 World's Fair hotel, after all.

I no longer believe that. I think we may go through another summer season before anything in the building is open

^A friend of mine had an event scheduled there that was cancelled, sounds like Jan 1 2027 is the new plan.

Wouldn't be shocking. The level of activity around the building seems greatly decreased.

Worst case scenario: is there a chance this place stalls and never opens?

^ worst case scenario is someone gets a 80% finished building on the cheap and opens it next year

I worry that the developer does not have enough reserves to keep it running once they finally get around to opening.

The fact the old windows are still in is the best indicator they're not going to make that May 2026 date.

And there was hope this same developer might tackle the Chemical or the Exchange building? hmmm

To be fair, not every building redevelopment requires the windows to be replaced. If they’re broken, they’ll be replaced. I can’t imagine there’s too much work left to be done overall

The windows aren’t being replaced. They’re all in good condition and were replaced the last time the building was renovated

Hadn't been keeping track as of late, is the whole project opening delayed or just the hotel component?

I still have liked the work being done so far and it will be a big boost when we get there. I liked the developer’s ideas for muni courts as well.

Didn’t someone make a bet with the developer on the finish date on here. Did that ever pay out?

I did.  It was a friendly bet of $100.  Hopefully he is sending the check to the urban league of St Louis soon.

I think May 2026 would still (barely) count as being completed within 9 months of the wager...but I may have my dates wrong.

Honestly building is looking fantastic, very excited

Tucker needs this lift, hoping more projects come off of this momentum

This project is still moving faster than the Tucker street overhaul

Excellent news.  Can't wait to get in there and see the work they've done.

I checked out the new Tucker blvd street painting and the Jefferson Arms. I dont know about activity but I noticed a large amount of construction items on the south side of the building much of it looked like it has been sitting there for months.

Post11:52 PM - May 17#748

It looks like all the junk on the south side of the building is just sitting there rotting!!

Construction fencing was removed on Friday, not because the project is done but because the developer is $80,000 in debt to the fence company, so they came and took their fence.

The project will most likely open in phases and floor by floor.  occupancy for some should be issued soon

Pretty depressing state that our society/economy is in that everything down to basic construction fencing is contracted out. It's no wonder why everything is so expensive.
