….I don’t know, our whole riverfront is abandoned or spec industrial as it is…the look and feel of this first building is not sitting well, looks more prime for land on the east riverfront not right on top of downtown for this transformative project. This might worry me more than it excites me

Yea it looks like an industrial/office park build and use you would see in an exurban county off an interstate exit. No mention of all the other projects, rehabs, park space and street transformations they had been showing so far…Not a great sign

Gateway South is a $1.2 billion redevelopment of up to 94 acres along the Mississippi River, led by Good Developments Group with multiple partners. Although leasing has begun, construction hasn’t started. The first industrial building is in design and expected to deliver in late 2026. Do you have a St. Louis Public Library Card? You can get online access to Biz Journal, Post-Dispatch and more. ^Thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately, I am not (yet) a resident of St. Louis, but if/when I do become one, I'll certainly look into getting a SLPL card.

Honestly just heartbreaking. This seems to happen all too often. I saw it in gulf in flames when I was arriving to work around 4am & wasn’t sure what building it was since I got off at the 14th street exit off of 64-40. It looked like a huge fireball. I was going to video it or take pictures but needed to get to work on time but thought it had to be the building since it was close to the highways.

Wow. This is heartbreaking. All that promise to actually save one of St. Louis’s most prominent legacy riverfront warehouse buildings. Would have been an eye popping preservation right on the river.
