Sad to hear Chicken Out didn’t make it, but there are just a lot of good cheap chicken places in STL to make that business model hard.quincunx wrote:Strange Donuts/ Up Late is open at the former Chicken Out location.
Strange Donuts is a great add, but I’ll always miss Piccione.

With as hot and humid of a summer we're having and the increase of our electric bills, we should really have a bill to increase the amount of street trees that are being planted across the city.PeterXCV wrote: ↑Aug 18, 2025More street trees, that stretch of Delmar feels so barren.

From the article:
"Founded in 2011, Bridge Bread is a nonprofit social enterprise bakery, focused on restorative employment for people experiencing homelessness. For more than a decade, the organization has paired paid work with job training and housing support, helping participants build stability and long-term economic mobility. The new Loop location marks both a physical expansion and a strategic next step for the program."

The Church on Delmar, above SWADE Cannabis, is now open as a weed-friendly event venue. I didn't realize this type of thing was legal, but looks like it is. Should add some life to the East Loop.
