Yes, HOK, just like LGA.gary kreie wrote: ↑May 28, 2025I see Salt Lake new linear terminals as the model. By HOK I believe. They are a major Delta hub. They use only moving sidewalks in the two long linear terminals.pdm_ad wrote:Hmm, would our new single, linear concourse be compatible with a major hub operation without some form of mass people mover? You'd have to punch out either end to add gates and the walk to either end would be onerous, even without bags and kids in tow.
I think our goal should be a crewed Southwest base with 150+ nonstop dailies.

I asked Rhonda if the airport has had talks with Lufthansa to add more flights next summer for the World Cup, she said they’re encouraged them to do it but no commitment yet. To me it makes a lot of sense to do 1 a day in June and maybe 2 a day on some days . From here it’s easy to get to where ever their team is playing.
10 55 pax coach busses operating for 30 days, branded with “St. Louis is Kansas City’s Gateway to the World” would cost about $25,000 per day or $775,000 for a month.
Build in a basic low fare to recoup some or say it’s included in the cost of a LH ticket.

Counter to this would be ORD is a Star Alliance hub. Easy enough to just add flights there and route people thru there like they normally do. They have plenty of connecting flights to get people where they want to go. Could just add flights from ORD-KC and others to handle the load.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑May 30, 2025I asked Rhonda if the airport has had talks with Lufthansa to add more flights next summer for the World Cup, she said they’re encouraged them to do it but no commitment yet. But Rhonda might as well try to leverage what she can to get the flights upped. If we get a practice hub and some pre World Cup friendlies that might help a bit.
There are some STL-FRA dates this fall going for ~$650 round trip. Pretty good deals!

Won’t mean anything for us directly but Southwest is partnering with China air (Taiwan).
STL-TPE incoming. Jk.
What partnership will be good for STL? If STL isn’t in the second round of Iceland Air connections I’m going to be disappointed.

We still can't get s Southwest base, and are not listed on line as a focus / hub.
They don’t list anyone as focus city or hubs that I’m aware of. We are in the top 10 for passengers for them.STLCityMike wrote: ↑Jun 02, 2025We still can't get s Southwest base, and are not listed on line as a focus / hub.

IF a Southwest "hub" is in the cards for us I suspect that news will break when the new terminal progress is a little further along
We already are bigger than some of their crew bases (Oakland, LAX, Atlanta) so it would be nice for them to add one here.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Jun 03, 2025IF a Southwest "hub" is in the cards for us I suspect that news will break when the new terminal progress is a little further along

Appears the contract with HoK and the airport has been signed for the new terminal design.
On BPS agenda today.

Having St. Louis' own HOK designing our new airport is great! LGA and SLC are fine examples of beautiful new terminals. They will design their world headquarters city and amazing airport. I look very forward to the design.
STL is one of Southests "hubs" and a crew base will follow here soon... possibly even before the new airport is completed. Especially with more connections and more gates slated soon.

A typical Southwest tail day at STL. This is.why they need more gates for connections. The airport is answering their call prior to the new terminal.

I’m sitting on a Delta flight right now and having seen how crowded the A gates were this morning, I was wondering how Delta stacks up in St. Louis? Is STL a pretty good performing airport for them?

A has been bustling the last couple years when I've flown in/out of it.

^Did Air Canada discontinue Montreal? I've been kind of expecting that, given the international situation, but I missed the news.
