^Ah, makes sense. Thanks!
May numbers for @flystl
Down 4.4% for the month
Down 5.4% on the year
Also
Southwest is apparently holding a Spirit Party in STL on Monday, September 22.
Nice to see the workers here getting some LUV.

Yeah, I don't like to see the numbers decrease. Are there any ideas what is driving this?

Consumer confidence sucked in April and May (and maybe June too). Sales tax receipts are down nationwide. People are tightening their belts.
Foreign tourism to the US is expected to drop almost 10% this year.

Trump alone can fix it. /sSTLCityMike wrote: ↑Jun 25, 2025Yeah, I don't like to see the numbers decrease. Are there any ideas what is driving this?

Hopefully if revenue comes in ahead of forecasts it gets restored, but yes it is extremely disappointing.
Albeit... 7 million is sooo little of the whole. Missouri hates the big cities. STL is the financial powerhouse of this state, but the RED(neck) conservative elects in JC hold this entire state hostage.

Totally agreed. But it’s not all on the sister kissers. Some of the worst legislators are from the StL area (maybe KC too but I don’t pay attention to that side of the state much). To name only a few:matguy70 wrote: ↑Jul 01, 2025Albeit... 7 million is sooo little of the whole. Missouri hates the big cities. Not to mention our ignorant, uncredentialed governor.
They're from the suburbs, aka the government subsidized-wouldn't work in a real market based economy-not real life, parts of the state. KC has the same morons.JaneJacobsGhost wrote: ↑Jul 02, 2025Totally agreed. But it’s not all on the sister kissers. I think the governor and legislature know $7M is not detrimental right now to the project. If it were, STL has the money to figure it out. They know a much bigger request is coming in 2026 also.
Airport commission notes
Southern Airways and Spirit are moving from signatory to non signatory airlines at the airport
Working to move the $7 mil for the national guard building demo that was put on the reserve list by the Gov to the approved list. Bid is out for the demo so the need to make sure they Gov knows the timing on it. Project is funded by the airlines either way.
Negotiations going well with airlines for new terminal.
Expect to finish ahead of 2019 enplanements. (I am skeptical)

So this means they are month to month, right? At risk for leaving?
Kind of it’s a 2 year contract but can be terminated with 30 day notice.
Basically just means they pay per use, don’t get preferential treatment or a say in anything (ie vote on anything with the new terminal) They can be pushed off their gate if a signatory airline wants it. They pay a higher fee per flight.
Makes sense if you aren’t running many flights. It was mentioned Spirit waited til the last minute to decide. They could change back to signatory later. I doubt southern does, they are about down to only one route and it could be gone next year.
Sun Country is the only other passenger airline that is non signatory. Cargo wise FedEx and UPS are signatory.

Are they ever going to change frequency or go with bigger equipment?jshank83 wrote: ↑Jul 08, 2025June loads (customs)

Hard to believe they can't expand capacity (or don't want to). But for comparison, I tried looking at Nashville. They've had a BA flight since 2017. It increased recently from daily (year-round) to 10/week (seasonal). BA reported to the airport authority a 94.1% load factor (I can't tell if that number is for an entire year). BA continues to receive a couple million in annual incentives.jshank83 wrote:June loads (customs)

And Nashville just got a couple years of Aer Lingus and Icelandair flights, but had to pay over $4 mil to Aer Lingus and over $2 mil to Icelandair.

So, small markets, even with high load factors, are paying incentives for intl service. Something I'm sure the powers that be are considering.

I thought LH had already stated a desire (if not intent) to expand to daily but were waiting on Airbus or Boeing to deliver planes. Thought entirely an equipment issue.
They announced yesterday they are going to start taking deliveries of their 787s. They have a bunch sitting at Boeing waiting for the new business class seats to be approved by the FAA. They have 15 coming by next summer. Apparently they are going to fly them with business class mostly blocked off if they have to. I’d guess if they are starting to take delivery now they figure it can’t be long before the seats are approved.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jul 08, 2025I thought LH had already stated a desire (if not intent) to expand to daily but were waiting on Airbus or Boeing to deliver planes. Has there been any talk of the route having any other type of plane besides the 330 if the frequency changed? I’m assuming new deliveries just mean other routes getting the new aircraft and STL gets more 330 since they would be available. Instead of something like if Aer Lingus got new XLRs and added a route, it would need to be on the new aircraft.jshank83 wrote: ↑Jul 08, 2025They announced yesterday they are going to start taking deliveries of their 787s.
