That Jane Dueker is a really doozy. I just saw a post on X where she said St.Louis is the most miss managed city in America. I’m guessing she’s very anti jones. Blaming a snowstorm on the mayor is like blaming a big wind storm on her I mean weather is going to weather.

Jane has never been the same since the Stenger criminal enterprise got busted. She’s just gone totally off the edge since

This isn’t an actual disaster. I know it’s hard for carbrained people to understand that.
How easy is it to be a pedestrian when the streets you have to cross are ice rinks?

Not to mention Metro bus stops being completely covered.

You're right. This isn't the Palisades fire or Hurricsne Katrina. But if you think it doesn't negatively affect ALL of us just trying to get around by car, transit or foot you're being obtuse.

And it will be a factor when voters consider whether to rehire this mayor whether you like it or not.

I mean if the best mayor of the century (and probably longer) loses it will be because the voters are stupid. It's the same reason one of the worst mayors this city has ever had was re-elected 4 times. And now they want the female version of him in! Never forget that the base for Slay is the base for Spencer.

Just a week ago I thought Jones was gliding to an easy victory 60%+. I’m now down to 55% if voter turnout is high in North St. Louis.

Southwest city is carrying the motivation right now. They weren’t motivated to vote Jones a week ago, even more so now.
At best she would have been looking at a 53% win prior to the travel stories and snowstorm.

Those two combined are the iceberg hitting the Titanic.

And Jones inaction was akin to ramming the iceberg even more.

You just say the strangest ***** sh*t. People have said we need change in STL for years, people have said we need crime reduction, need lane reductions, more public tranist, and economic growth. Jones has delivered ALL of that.

But "for some reason" people like you refuse to acknowledge all the actual real life things she has done to improve the city and literally make things up like the snow or the fact she takes trips as part of her job as Mayor.

If you actually look back at the options during those 3 elections that Slay was re-elected, who should these stupid voters have elected instead? As I recall, Slay was basically unchallenged in every election he won. The exception being 2013, but his challenger was Lewis Reed and he ended up in Federal prison. So who should these stupid voters have chosen instead?

I don't understand the logic of bringing up Slay in regards to this year's race.

Joe Vaccaro, a Slay appointee, has endorsed and is fundraising for Tishaura Jones.

Do you even have a clue what Slay was doing? The city's real GDP shrank by over 11%. The PD was literally running drugs.

Reed got caught for bribery, what Slay was doing is far far worse than bribery. And he probably took bribes in there too.

Slay was genuinely one of if not the worst mayor this city ever had. Whatever GOP opponent he had would have been better, 100%.

Slay's base is Spencer's base. The appointed officials support Jones because they know how sh*t Spencer will be, just judging by how she acts as an alderperson in meeting, emails, etc in their interactions with her.

One of them I've spoken to was opposed to Jones back in 2021 and was a Slay appointee, but was won over by Jones because of how well she has run her cabinet and the city in general.

I'm sorry this goes against your delusional narrative, but the people who actually know these people personally know who's better and who's not.

This doesn’t even address the point I was making. I wasn’t commenting on Slay’s performance as Mayor. I was making the point that the voters who you called stupid didn’t have real alternatives to Slay to vote for, save for a candidate who is currently in prison for bribery.

Please try to think before you post, rather than just spewing personal attacks across this forum. It’s degrading the narrative on this forum.

you keep b*tching about people supposedly making sh*t up and meanwhile every other post you're fabricating some bullsh*t about Cara. where's the ***** evidence for any of this? her constituents—the vast majority of which are not Slay supporters in the 20th and now 8th wards—love her, which is why she was overwhelmingly reelected for a second term. i've known Cara for a long time; she's ***** awesome and cares deeply for this city. i have no problem with Tishaura, but Cara is every bit as capable.

you don't seem to understand that snark, hostility, and yelling your opinion repeatedly don't constitute arguments. you're not convincing anyone of anything, and you're sure as sh*t not making any friends. maybe log off for a while and go do something that makes you less angry. you might consider seeing a therapist, too. you're wasting your time and ours here.

The only thing degrading the narrative are  people making up sh*t in an effort to oust an objectively good mayor. This forum supposedly is supposed to be about making STL better, meanwhile it seems like more people want to actively make it worse by removing the mayor that has brought massive crime reductions, a great police chief, the best GDP Growth in decades, movement on some of downtown's biggest vacancies.

2013 was Slay vs McNeely. Somehow 15.5% of the city voted for the better candidate.....2009 was Slay vs Coleman. Once again 34.3% of the city votes for the better candidate. 2005 was Slay vs Marshall. Somehow 21.3% of the city voted for the better candidate. Reed literally never faced Slay in a mayoral election.

You are a disgrace for, once again, making sh*t up.

Every ward outside of North City voted for Slay by 85%+ and her base is in Southwest City, the same as Slay.

I haven't said a single lie. I'm sorry that I know people and you don't. There's nothing I can do about people who actually have to work with her not liking her.

Why would I wanna be friends with people who hate St. Louis? Actively hoping for its demise?
