Jovic Brothers Cafe is opening at 500 N Broadway (former Green Onion space)

Jovick Brothers Burgers in Princeton Heights is fantastic and already a welcome addition to south city.
I haven't been to their deli near Westport, but I'm thinking I should.
I'll definitely stop by their downtown cafe.

It’s supposed to open tomorrow. They did sustain some damage during the 4th of July shootings.stlurbanist wrote:I dont see any action in city garden for Burger 809. Are they still on? Summer is almost over.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jun 13, 2024Upcoming Downtown restaurant/cafes

Is Burger 809 open for business? I saw only two people today during lunch time.

It was packed for lunch yesterday. The 7am to 2pm constant downpour kept people away today

Scottish arms will close today. Restaurant closes at 10pm and bar at midnight tonight.
A solid 20 year run, sad to see it close.

Great restaurant. Unfortunate. Second time on that block a restaurant has closed on a days notice.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2024Scottish arms will close today. Restaurant closes at 10pm and bar at midnight tonight.

CWE continues to quietly struggle, or at best, stall. Maybe not all connected, but at some point, a pattern is appearing.
East of Boyle to SLU, there’s actually a lot of vacant lots and buildings, including around Scottish Arms.
Consider me worried about CWE, unless some of these proposed developments start to kick off.

are they closing due to crime or no traffic?TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2024Scottish arms will close today. Restaurant closes at 10pm and bar at midnight tonight.

Looks like El Burro Loco Downtown is closing. Hopefully the CWE location is staying open.

Owner moved to Colorado and wanted to sell, it was going through the process of being sold and the deal fell thru.
Chesterfield/Wildwood has officially chimed in with their take.stlurbanist wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2024are they closing due to crime or no traffic?TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2024Scottish arms will close today. Restaurant closes at 10pm and bar at midnight tonight.

I wondered how much longer they were going to survive. The last time we were in thereDebaliviere91 wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2024Looks like El Burro Loco Downtown is closing. Hopefully the CWE location is staying open.
- the food was bad
- the service was horrible as the waitress was coming off a pretty good high
- 90% of the clientele was underage kids getting drunk

I went to the Chicken & Pickle in St. Chuck a few weekends ago - that certainly feels like something that would do great near the Foundry.

Totally agree. I went last year and it was a bad experience all around.dweebe wrote:I wondered how much longer they were going to survive. The last time we were in thereDebaliviere91 wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2024Looks like El Burro Loco Downtown is closing. Hopefully the CWE location is staying open.

I definitely think something like Chicken & Pickle would work in Midtown.

100%. They started in North Kansas City near Downtown. It's not my personal vibe but I definitely think it would be a good fit.

I stopped eating at Panda Express with any kind of regularity after I discovered its Mizzou tarnish.
