^Don't eat at Panda Express because the food is lousy. I know you're a Jayhawks fan, and that's fine. Trash talk the Tigers all you want. I understand. I have my sports rivalries. But I don't think literally everyone from Chicago or New York is a bad person. Some of them just don't know any better in their sports fandom. Buy them better tchotchkes. Maybe a keyfob with a bird on it.

Or don't, because corporations aren't people and don't need tchotchkes.

Anyway , best to avoid the General Cornsyrup's Chicken, even if not all who have the 'zooish smell are genuinely bad people.

The retail / coffee shop rally continues in Debaliviere Place with today’s grand opening of E61, a Greek coffee shop. Located at Belt and Pershing.

"at Expo"? Are you talking about the one of Hampton that's kind of behind The Expo at Forest Park? Because we got stuff there after church yesterday.

It’s the location at Debaliviere and FPP. At the Expo Apartment complex.

My bad. I got "Encore" and "Expo" messed up.

IIRC I think they're trying to unionize that store. So my assumption is Starbucks is either messing with the store or flat out closing it in sheer spite.

Starbucks is becoming known for its union-busting, so it wouldn't shock me if they might drop a store trying to unionize.

It could certainly be driven by the union push. Though I’d be curious to see how sales have been. It’s never seemed terribly busy, even with WashU students back. Plus 3 coffee shops have opened within the last few months in the neighborhood.

Ugh, I really hope someone buys Uncle Bill's and keeps it going. Don't always want to have to go to the Manchester location.

^ strange story. Someone bought the building that houses a historic restaurant and told them they have to go because the new owner wants to open something else?

One of the windows of newly opened park place cafe on DeBaliviere was busted sometime a couple of weeks ago.

Does anyone know how that cafe is doing?

I think the food and coffee is pretty solid. It’s never been packed when I’ve popped in though. I do continue to worry about any cafe/restaurant in that neighborhood getting enough traffic to sustain. Mack’s seems to be the only one that reliably brings in enough people from outside the neighborhood to be sustainable.

I think Park Place is a little freaked out about being right next to that bus stop, it’s often a pretty rough crowd hanging around there.
