A non-functioning video board wouldn't be a reason to relocate the team, would it? All they really need is a time//score scoreboard like at a high school stadium. You'd think they could easily do some kind of temporary low-tech scoreboard.

The videoboards are mostly ads anyway, so they'd lose money. But I don't see how that would preclude playing games.

When will the intersection of Jefferson at 40 be finished?!  Coming in and out of the city I have witnessed numerous accidents and near misses. Oh  they painted the lanes but the bottle neck at peak times has been ongoing for a year+
I know someone will reply with MODOT road redo plans and time schedule
Bottom line FINISH IT its dangerous as it is now!

Soccer has to be one of the sports a scoreboard is needed the least. Low scoring, running clock. You could just make an announcement every minute or so starting at the 40 minute mark of each half. But an old school scoreboard shouldn’t take much power either.

Play day games and you don’t need lights for the field.

I don't know when the intersection will be finished, but the Jefferson work finally starts this coming week.

They announced that they have sold out season tickets. Who could have predicted?

What's the damage here? Is it a transformer vault? As long as the board itself and all its associated control equipment, and all the lines feeding it are intact I'd think they ought to be able to rent generators. It's expensive to power a stadium that way, but it's absolutely doable. That sort of thing is done all the time for concerts and festivals, the biggest of which have video walls quite comparable to big stadium scoreboards. It's all theatre in the end. Connecting the things to the scoreboard might be an issue, but where there's a will, there's a way. There's enough money on the line that I bet they find a way to make this work, supply chain woes or no. The show must go on.

Whatever the damage is it’s not preventing them
from having lights on overnight all the time. Game 1 in February will be at Centene and everything else is sausage making

^Hey, I used to make that sausage. Maybe you don't want to know what's in it, but I do. ;-)

Why is so dark along Market in front  of Union Station are the street lights out because of that electrical issue?

It's Reddit so take it with a huge grain of salt: but the claim from a guy saying he's a commercial/industrial electrician on there is the damage was not to lighting but to the systems that handle
-point of sale
-communications
-building WiFi
-controllers for the HVAC for the enclosed areas like the team store, club area, locker rooms etc

I’ve noticed a lot of street lights are out around downtown lately. The old courthouse has not been lit up since last Christmas either. Having better lighting downtown would make a world of difference in making downtown more inviting and safe at night

There has been millions spent to upgrade all downtown lighting to LED.  And it’s bright as day down here but that’s just me someone who lives, works and walks 10 miles a day around downtown

Both of these are from this summer.

Washington Avenue needs the LEDs ASAP all the way to Jefferson if possible.

It’s not going to get them because of the novelty fixtures and because residents on floors 2-4 want to sleep at night

This explains why there was no Centene signage going up: they tapped out.

“After discussions with Centene, we have agreed to reshape the current partnership with them and the focus moving forward will be on developing community health and wellness programming throughout the region,” said Carolyn Kindle, St. Louis CITY SC’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Do these contracts usually have a buyout for situations like this? Just curious if this is a good thing for the MLS team if Centene basically just paid to exit their agreement?

As often as these deals happen and changes occur there has to be some sort of schedule and fees for getting out of a deal.

Still, nothing can compare to the bad deal the Blues took for Savvis that was in stock, not cash.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been operating for 3+ years without having sold their naming rights and Spurs are doing ok.  (Not sovereign wealth ok, but ok nonetheless.)

I don’t hate the CITYPARK name and I’m sure they’ll end up selling the naming rights eventually anyway…but I kind of like Mill Creek Park or Grounds or Stadium.

Citypark is a decent name for now. Maybe they could get a naming agreement with Citi Bank. Then it would become CitiPark

Will AB step up and want a name like Budweiser to line up with their World Cup Promos? Years ago when they were looking to name the Dome and Enterprise, I was pushing for Bud Dry and Bud Ice respectively to line up with popular beers back then. Or will it be National Car Rental stadium?

Citypark isn't my favorite name but they probably had to come up with it over the weekend so it could be worse. I'm sure in six months it'll be Enterprise Rent-a-Park or something anyway.

Just heard on Fox2 that an important announcement will happen today at 9a at the stadium. New naming rights already? Or something different altogether?
