The northeast corner of Jefferson and Clark, in case you got confused like me by the aerial image orientation.

I assume this is the location of the future indoor training facility
City SC has apparently bought out Sybergs on market and plans to close it this weekend and turn it into a team bar

I have a lot of mixed feelings about that announcement.
It sounds awful. Pretty sure Syberg's was the last local chain with a downtown location and it's an extremely popular location for Cardinals and Blues pre and post games. Now it's gonna be a generic Cardinals Nation type restaurant? If that?TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote:I have a lot of mixed feelings about that announcement.
Screw that. Add this to the loss column for downtown. Absolutely gutting.

More than just a Reno and rebrand, Sybergs is a blue blood sports bar that caters to working class, and their prices reflect that. A new place will likely have an elevated menu with elevated prices and pricier alcohol.
Guess we can lean on a member of Sybergs leadership for accuracy. Feel like that is good news tbh. With The Pitch catty-corner from the stadium feel like this theoretical buyout would be redundant almost

Much rather see them redevelop a nearby building to do that, not just take over an existing restaurant…
Ok, this idea is a bit far-fetched (and perhaps whimsical), but I think that Energizer should double down on their investment in the MLS stadium by moving their corporate HQ to the area immediately surrounding the stadium. There's a couple ideas I had for how this could go down. First: the location. The parcel at 308 N 21st (across Olive from Energizer Park) is available and features both an existing brick office building and an undeveloped parking lot that offers an opportunity.
Idea 1: Energizer buys this parcel and moves their HQ to the small brick building. While this is not a monumental move, it is symbolic on paper and would show that Energizer supports their stadium and the surrounding area. This is the least difficult option besides the status quo, since their Clayton HQ could still remain their main office even though, on paper, the HQ would now be downtown. There's a firm in a city near me that is doing something very similar to this idea. See the first attached image for an idea of how they could brand the building, the bunny on the roof is obviously a requirement
Idea 2: Energizer buys this parcel and builds a new Class A office tower on the surface lot. This tower would become their new HQ, figuratively and functionally. Class A office space is in demand and is a reason why firms leave DT for Clayton, so adding more Class A space could help to rebuild DT's corporate presence. I had some fun with the designs of the office tower
After all, who wouldn't want a chance to visit the world's largest battery on their Route 66 road trip?
Let me know your thoughts!

^Yes, that’s what I meant in regards to the new tower. Thanks for clarifying.

@Ragtimer Absolutely hilarious. I'm doubtful they'd move considering they just got the new space in Clayton, but those images are quite epic.
