I always thought Bridgestone felt like a convention center they just use to play hockey in with the way the concourses are set up.dweebe wrote: ↑Jul 26, 2022You go to other arenas from the mid 90's to mid 2000s and they're not that way.symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Jul 26, 2022^I'd have honestly just said that exposed structure was the trend for about twenty years or so, and all the other local sports venues were built during that twenty year period. Every coffee house from the mid 90s on had the same exposed trusses, ducts, and conduits. Maybe they were all painted black and hung with twinkle lights sometime in the 2000s, but they were all still exposed. Anyway . . . this should be nice!

Love that photo.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jul 26, 2022From tonight
I really hope that the entire skyline can become more bright and vibrant with colors in the future.
For those that think the new stadium is "meh" or angered the trees aren't big enough: this is the Colorado Rapid's stadium.

^ Yeah, that's not very impressive.
I noticed Chris posted his final fly around the other day:

^There's some new perspectives in that one too. I also just posted a look inside post. I'll post some photos in this thread later, but it's a really nice place. I'm happy that we have this.

I noticed Chris posted his final fly around the other day:
- Olive Stroad needs to remain 3 lanes
- The fact all 4 sides are publicly usable is impressive.
As promised, here are some photos that I took.chriss752 wrote: ↑Aug 11, 2022^There's some new perspectives in that one too. I also just posted a look inside post. I'll post some photos in this thread later, but it's a really nice place. I'm happy that we have this.

A little surprised we having gotten confirmation of the first event being held there yet. I know many think it will be the last STLCITY2 regular season game but we are getting close to a month out for that.

It’s not the stadium but biz dash is being held in the plaza.jshank83 wrote:A little surprised we having gotten confirmation of the first event being held there yet. I know many think it will be the last STLCITY2 regular season game but we are getting close to a month out for that.
I’m guessing the labor market and remaining supply chain issues make it hard to schedule anything.

^The interior shots do look surprisingly lovely. It's quite bright and airy, especially compared to the stadiums and arenas where I've worked. (Mostly stuff around Columbia, but occasionally a few others around the state, including both Kiel and the dome.) Looks like a really nice hall. I wish them the very best luck!
It's Enterprise Center. It hasn't been called Kiel Center since 2000.symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Aug 12, 2022^The interior shots do look surprisingly lovely. The only other sports venue I've seen that at is the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. They haven't announced it yet but one would hope they're going to copy their "fan friendly" pricing model.

^It'll always be Kiel to me. They change names more often than some of my friends change underwear. I refuse to bother with learning the new ones. If it makes you feel better, I almost said Kiel and the TWA Dome, but I decided against it, as I always hated that name anyway.
I understand: but I think the Enterprise name is going to stick.symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Aug 12, 2022^It'll always be Kiel to me. They change names more often than some of my friends change underwear. I may eventually warm to it. On the other hand . . . it really was the Kiel Center for the couple of shows I worked there way back when. (Neil Diamond and Grease on Ice. And John Paul II at the TWA dome. Just to cement in how thoroughly out of touch I am.)dweebe wrote: ↑Aug 12, 2022I understand: but I think the Enterprise name is going to stick.symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Aug 12, 2022^It'll always be Kiel to me. Savvis Center (2000–2006)
Scottrade Center (2006–2018)
Enterprise Center (2018-Present)
At least for me the Blues winning the Stanley Cup at "Enterprise Center" secures that name. (I was in the building for the Game 7 watch party.)
Yep, that's about my underwear changing schedule too

IIRC the Cowboys/ATT stadium used to be RC Cola and Dr Pepper for their soda choices. That was an odd one. No Coke or no Pepsi.

Pepsi products?!? No thanks. Should have gotten Coke or Excel.
