Does anyone know if the Science Center Foundation has ever discussed selling those three corner lots they own?

You were spot on. GoogleMaps has already updated the streetview for this stretch of Manchester from January to February and the balconies do help by hiding the white doors and by being consistent with all of the other metal work on the facade in being black.Miss Shell wrote: ↑Feb 08, 2022I'm sure the balconies might hide the white doors a little. But that is an unfortunate looking building. At first glance, I thought the green was still unfinished material...

Someone I was speaking to hinted that the site has significant contamination challenges (?some funny business in the past) that the owners may not want unearthed.pattimagee wrote: ↑Feb 16, 2022Does anyone know if the Science Center Foundation has ever discussed selling those three corner lots they own?

Who was the prior owner, and what was on it? It has been vacant as long as I have been around. In Geo Stl Anheuser-Busch owned the site from 1998-2001, when the Science Center bought it. I don't know who owned the site prior to Anheuser-Busch, what they used it for, or if anyone owned it before them.imran wrote: ↑Feb 18, 2022Someone I was speaking to hinted that the site has significant contamination challenges (?some funny business in the past) that the owners may not want unearthed.pattimagee wrote: ↑Feb 16, 2022Does anyone know if the Science Center Foundation has ever discussed selling those three corner lots they own?

I didn’t think much of it but something to the effect of ?AB making a shady deal to bury stuff rather than dispose of it properly. The person I spoke with used to be associated with the science center and said it was a messy situation. Fwiwrbeedee wrote: ↑Feb 18, 2022Who was the prior owner, and what was on it? I thought that used to be the Schnucks dairy warehouse/distribution center?rbeedee wrote: ↑Feb 18, 2022Who was the prior owner, and what was on it? It has been vacant as long as I have been around. It was a gas station before the warehouse was built.southcitygent wrote: ↑Feb 19, 2022It was a Schnucks warehouse.
Here are the Sanborn maps from 1904 and 1951. Looks like a brick building on the corner, a used car lot, and gas station were on the wedge. Probably the gas station that is the problem.
