Close - Centene does has a large sponsorship deal in place with Charlotte FC, including the field naming rights (but the stadium itself is Bank of America Stadium), jersey sponsorship, and then a large seat-license deal for 1,900 seats that it will use for philanthropic programs.

^^^True, but the Centene reps sure made it clear today, that STL is their global HQs and they are proud to be here. While they are just words, I feel better than I did when Nierdorff was threatening to leave every few months.

People treating this as proof of some renewed commitment to an StL HQ are setting themselves up for disappointment.
Agreed completely. They may still move the C-suite somewhere else and focus on expanding in other cities rather than making St. Louis the largest hub.

They may also keep the HQ here. Nobody really knows at this point. Nierdorff leaving blows up all theories. All we know is that they are reshuffling their C-Suite and they spoke of their commitment to STL today. Yes, they built a huge 'East Coast HQ' in Charlotte, but they also have a West Coast HQ in Northern CA. While I agree, this is deal doesn't guarantee STL anything, it is a positive story, in a saga that has mainly involved negative stories.

Sometimes you have to threaten to blow things up to get things done around here. Everyone hated on Nierdorff for what he said, but a lot of what he said was true and maybe people needed to hear threats to get things in motion. Behind the scenes it didn’t seem like they were doing much different here than they were before the threats. They kept spending money on community and different sponsorships. They wanted to get a flight to Europe, they helped get that done. Yes they are adding a big office in Charlotte but a lot of huge companies have multiple offices. Could they leave, sure, but I think people maybe went off the deep end a little quick because of what have happened in the past here with others.

Wonder when we might hear anything about the next phase of Centene’s Clayton campus expansion. Didn’t Nierdorff say that they weren’t going to expand until crime went down? Well…murders went down last year by a pretty significant amount so let’s start moving some ground!

Do they need to build anything else right now? A lot of the job listings for Centene now talk about remote/work from home.

Yeah, I’d imagine any more office space is off the table for the foreseeable future.

I’d like to see the auditorium and the residential mid rise completed. And maybe resurrect that proposal with Wash U at the Forsyth station but with a greater focus on residential.

Probably can move this into the Centene thread…

How much of Centenes office towers is actually Centene? Don’t they lease a bunch of it out?

Just thinking If there is demand for office space in Clayton they could build and lease it.

I believe Armstrong Teasdale and Ernst & Young are both there.  Both firms were located downtown at one point.  Armstrong Teasdale moved there directly from Met Square, while Ernst & Young is on its second Clayton office space after leaving Gateway One.

At least when it first opened Centene had everything up to the "fourteenth" floor and everything above that was leased out. (My wife was on the thirteenth, I mean fourteenth floor. She's since changed positions and so I've no idea where she'd be if/when she ever goes back to the office.)

Pay close attention to the Locust corridor and the 22nd and Olive intersection over the next year or two

On the east side of 22nd street, you have empty lots all the way from Olive, where the stadium is, to the north where the street dead-ends at Washington; and there at Washington is another empty lot.

There's so much that can be done in this area. I know pro sports stadiums are said to do very little for cities, but I really don't think that's going to be the case for Centene Stadium. To be fair, most of the change we're witnessing is probably due to the fact that other neighborhoods to the west got hot first.

Lol. So, is this officially Chris’ new account? Just want to know so that there’s an understanding of how legit the posts are / if they’re actually him or someone else just passing along info like a game of telephone.

It's a pretty common look for a soccer stadium.

I have no idea who this "Nierdorff" fellow is, but I assume people are talking about outgoing Centene CEO Michael Neidorff,
