Is Kroenke divesting himself of his St. Louis properties? I noticed the Chesterfield Common mega strip mall now has Pace signs on all the for rent spaces (and there are a lot). And IIRC the plazas involved with the Maplewood and Manchester Wal Marts also have non-Kroenke signage.

^I'd say that's a win for everyone. Except maybe KroenkePants.

I’m a Seahawks fan so I hate the LA Rams for my own reasons, but it’s difficult not to look at that last goal line sequence and question the legitimacy of the outcome. Weak calls after a game of no calls with a league that is desperate to make the Rams work in LA.

I feel like Uncle Rico more or less got everything he wanted. The lawsuit went away and didn't spoil the Super Bowl, and he got to see his team win it all in his $5 billion palace.
Puke.
I'm still glad STL walked away with a $790M settlement, but I'm pretty sure Enos doesn't give a sh*t about any of that tonight.

I don’t think Stan gave a sh*t about anything last night. That dude was feeling no pain. Surprised he knew he was in “Ram’s house.”DTGstl314 wrote: ↑Feb 14, 2022I feel like Uncle Rico more or less got everything he wanted. That's completely ignoring the TD Pass to Higgins to open the 3rd quarter. Blatant penalty that wasn't called lead to the Bengals last TD.SeattleNative wrote: ↑Feb 14, 2022I’m a Seahawks fan so I hate the LA Rams for my own reasons, but it’s difficult not to look at that last goal line sequence and question the legitimacy of the outcome. You can see the "personality" of Stan and why
1) the NFL was underwhelmed with his St. Louis Stallions expansion proposal
2) it took Jerry Jones to push the LA deal through
Ill fitting suit, out of date suit that looks like he bought it off the rack at TJ Maxx. 0/10 personality. Mumbled his way through the acceptance speech.

I’m just happy it waited until now for them to win. If it has been 2 or 3 years after they left I probably would have been more upset but at this point I have moved on. I didn’t want the Rams to win but I am close to the point of indifference. Not wanting them to win now is just at the level of any team I dislike winning, no real extra hate on top of that anymore.

You’re right. It was a pretty bad missed call. But by then they’d at least set a precedent that they were letting them get physical on the outside. They waited til the final goal line sequence to change that standard. Also, the multiple calls in that sequence alone was pretty egregious.Bart Harley Jarvis wrote:That's completely ignoring the TD Pass to Higgins to open the 3rd quarter. For my own venting and therapy, below is a final rant about how Kroenke tanked the Rams to bring them to LA, this is mainly to soothe the pain after watching my childhood team win the Super Bowl and being disappointed I no longer can get excited for what should have been an awesome sports moment. Feel free to skip this post.
Kroenke finally bought his Super Bowl, if anyone had any doubt that he was eyeing abandoning STL the moment he bought the team it should be crystal clear by looking at the comparison of what he's done for the team in LA vs what he did for the team in STL.
STL team never went big in free agency or trades, (in fact, according to their official transaction record, there were literally 0 trades made in 2013, 2014, or 2015.) just left to middle or be flat out awful (including the worst stretch of multi-year football in NFL history towards the end), stadium was never invested in and allowed to fade into what it is today, a dated but serviceable stadium, but certainly one he could complain about not being state-of-the-art. We got stuck with Jeff "7-9" Fisher, and overpaid Sam Bradford so badly the rules were changed for salary for rookies/high draft picks. Kroenke was also famously absent from attending his own team's games and in stark contrast to the Cardinals/Blues was not involved in the community. So STL went from selling out 95 straight games from 1995 to 2006, to being understandable apathetic towards a team that never invested in itself, it's fans, or it's city. It should also be noted that despite being in the bottom quadrant for attendance, it was still at an average of 85% full during 13/14/15 seasons. It was not as abysmal as they'd like you to think. The Rams in LA actually saw lower attendance in LA in their first 2 seasons than in their final seasons in STL.
In LA, Fisher was immediately fired after the 1st season. In was brought one of the most promising / exciting young coaches in the league, and blockbuster trade after blockbuster trade began being made.
Notable trades in 2021 alone:
This team was tanked to drop fan support for years and steal away a team from a city in the name of profits and a larger TV market, which while we all know sports are a business at the end of the day, rarely is the curtain pulled back so grossly and the vulgar underbelly so exposed clearly.
Wish the lawsuit hadn't been settled when it had, could have had the impending trails looming over the NFL and it's crown jewel event, but we took the pig when we could have pressed for the farm.

About how St. Louis was a second-rate, dying city that would leave any NFL team in financial ruin if they were to stay?
Yeah, I love the NFL so much less than I used to.
Edit: But I still love it. I can't really stop watching it.

I’m just past it. He said what he needed to say, we know it all isn’t true.
I’ve just decided my happiness or unhappiness in this case isn’t going to be influenced that much by Stanley Steamer. He doesn’t care about me/us so I am not going to think much about him. Rams winning last night doesn’t change my life any, so oh well.
But again if people still want to be upset, I totally get it. Live you life how you want.
Yep, and there's a difference between missing a call - which is, relatively speaking, easy to too even on egregious fouls (and that was definitely an egregious offensive PI) - and calling a phantom penalty where there isn't one. The refs aren't always in the right spot to see a foul, even if they're positioned appropriately.SeattleNative wrote: ↑Feb 14, 2022You’re right. It was a pretty bad missed call. But calling a foul means the ref or line judge was watching and saw definitely something blatant enough to call. There was absolutely nothing there - the defender put one hand on the receiver (which he is explicitly allowed to do per NFL rules on defensive PI) but in no way was he even close to hindering his progress - even if that hand was after the ball was thrown.
This was a 3rd down play. If it stood, they would have faced 4th and 7 (I think?), with less that 2 minutes in the game, and the Rams would have been up against the wall. Instead they moved up to the 1-yard line and got four extra chances to score from there, with minimal time for Cincinnati to respond. That was the game, and a ref needs to be 100% sure before calling that specific non-reviewable penalty - especially in a game where they'd been 'letting them play', i.e.: not calling ticky-tacky penalties all game long.
Maybe this was a makeup for the non-call at the end of the 1st half that lead to the Bengals TD? If so, then while I have a problem with the idea of 'makeup calls' in general doing it on that call, that late in the game, had a much greater impact on the outcome than the first one.
Or <puts on consipiracy theorist's hat and cloak> maybe this was the league's way to gift the Rams a SB win for making the move happen. I mean we have empirical evidence the league colluded to break their own rules to make the move happen. Who's to say they couldn't have also promised to grease the skids to a SB title (which comes with tons of extra $$ from extra gameday revenues, worldwide exposure, merchandise sales, etc.) in exchange for getting them back into the LA market?

To be clear, I'm not upset that the Rams won - I have no beef with the team itself.jshank83 wrote: ↑Feb 14, 2022I’m just happy it waited until now for them to win. I'm upset that Stan Kroenke won.
Basically, the plot of this movie played out in real life, except with the villainous owner getting exactly what he wanted in the end...npav wrote: ↑Feb 14, 2022For my own venting and therapy, below is a final rant about how Kroenke tanked the Rams to bring them to LA, this is mainly to soothe the pain after watching my childhood team win the Super Bowl and being disappointed I no longer can get excited for what should have been an awesome sports moment. I have no doubt the 'LA Rams" were given ANY advantage possible to get the SB win. I have no evidence, but if you know anything about the NFL and Goodell, one of the most important items on their to-do list is to make LA a successful market. StanK probably thinks the NFL owes him for spending so much on the LA move.
Evidence of rigging games has come to light in the most recent scandal with the Dolphins former coach Brian Flores. I'm always reminded of the Patriots and their recording of the Rams walk-thru. If anybody wants to say or think that did not affect the outcome, tell me why the Pats were hit so hard with loss of draft picks and monetary fines. I just feel like it is way too much of a coincidence that the Rams made it all the way to the 1st SB at SoFi Stadium. Yes, they had a good team, but this is Goodell, StanK and the Cartel that will do anything to make money. Anything is possible IMO.

^Man, if someone comes up with evidence that would be the sports scandal of the century. You're thinking even the refs might be in on the fix? Move over Deflategate, Black Sox hold my beer, the StanKTank Shuffle could beat 'em all.
(And for the record, I suggest the house that StanK built be forever rechristened the StanKTank.)

Sounds like they had just thousands at the Super Bowl parade. This franchise is going to limp when they hit some hard performance years.

Regarding whether the fix is in on the NFL, you're absolutely right that it would be the biggest scandal ever. Consider that this last Super Bowl was making headlines for how much online casino gambling was taking place with it. Such a scandal could take down sports gambling, which is a huge industry - just ask Las Vegas, or Draft Kings, or the Mafia.
While I'm absolutely not sure if it is or not, there is this from former STL Rams RB Benny Cunningham (2013-16):
The Sports Rush: Benny Cunningham says NFL is Scripted, EX-NFL Player Benny Cunningham Admits League Is Scripted
Note: I'm not saying Benny Cunningham is a great reference source, but it'd sure be interesting to hear what's up with League NDAs.The NFL is scripted but they make us sign something so we can't go into detail...
