Technically midtown

^ nope, he’s right it’s midtown. DT west ends at Jefferson and this is west of Jefferson. So midtown it is
^Ahhh, I mapped it just east of Jefferson. Nice addition to Midtown...

^If it was any closer to the border it'd be in the middle of the street. I do actually think of Jefferson as the dividing line there, but the A. G. Edwards campus makes it feel like downtown is slowly creeping west. It's a forgivable description.

Ponce medical school is leaving the globe building and signing a 10 year lease for 56,000 sq ft at the NE corner of Market and Jefferson
Ten years? I thought their new campus was supposed to be finished by then.

Ponce is a for profit university so it is by definition a scam, and like most for profits, targeted at minority and working class students.

Tried out Latte Lounge the other day, just an Americano as usual. It was pretty good. The space is interesting because it's essentially a fully built out and fixtured club that is now a brunch spot. TV's everywhere, dance floors with expensive light setups, and bar with swing set seats.
I'm curious if they will be going for a liquor license anytime soon, it's a really cool space. Seems like a steep opportunity cost to not at least have a very lit boozy brunch.

So two things!
Who’s been to Downtown Detroit lately?
Just wow!!! A lot of investment happening!!
Looks super clean and it looks like a new city!
A real renaissance!!
The other is another sad story probably mentioned who knows! But Downtown’s Pi pizzeria on Wash Ave closed “temporarily”.
What happened?

Given the crowds Marquee hauls in on Sundays, I don't see why someone else wouldn't take a swing at it.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Dec 15, 2021Tried out Latte Lounge the other day, just an Americano as usual. I think they're having issues and are retreating to their Pi and Rico place in Kirkwood.JJ Taino wrote: ↑Dec 15, 2021The other is another sad story probably mentioned who knows! But Downtown’s Pi pizzeria on Wash Ave closed “temporarily”.

There is a new Irish bar coming soon next to Park Avenue Coffee at the Gallery 515 apartments. It looks like it will be co located in the furniture shop on the western side of the building along 6th.
^ Novel, if not somewhat awkward concept, but apparently I get drink specials as a tenant LOL.
Y'all might say scam but the world is going through a huge shortage of certified doctors and if the place is accredited, better it be in Saint Louis than somewhere in the Caribbean.downtown2007 wrote: ↑Dec 18, 2021Yup. Fire is out and the building appears to be structurally sound. This building has been squatter central since at least 2017
^ Disappointing. With the momentum in DTW, I am/was hopeful that the last couple of buildings in this cluster would soon be redeveloped.

Pretty sure it's still standing, but now the clock is ticking
