I saw that as I was driving to a gig this afternoon. First saw it in the distance and told my wife it had to be a structure fire and that the two real possibilities were squatters or McKee. (Possibly with the help of squatters he invited in for the purpose.) Was sorry to see that. Glad it's still standing. That's a particularly handsome warehouse. The terra-cotta at the entryway is darned Sullivanesque. Hopefully someone gets moving on it quickly. I'd hate to lose that one.
$52k in back taxes if the address is correct (2030 Delmar). How is this not on the land tax sale?
I think you have to be in the 4th year of non-payment before it goes to tax sale.

Wouldn't 2022 be year 4? Would it go on tax sale this next year, or would it have it wait until 2023?
Interesting...it's definitely a scheme to get consumers in to shop in the store, based on the operating hours. But hey, A+ for ingenuity!dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Dec 19, 2021There is a new Irish bar coming soon next to Park Avenue Coffee at the Gallery 515 apartments. Looks like a cool place but the fact that the legs/torso don't match up with the head in the logo is bothering me.SRQ2STL wrote: ↑Dec 20, 2021Interesting...it's definitely a scheme to get consumers in to shop in the store, based on the operating hours. Developer cries 'extortion' after would-be neighbor blocks property sale
Would this building's fate had been more sound if Blackline had acquired it? I assume they haven't at this point based off the property records.

Just reading all these developments been turned down by CWE, Loop, Cortex and other neighborhoods what is our Downtown or our Downtowns aldermen and community leaders doing to bring them Downtown and finally take advantage and make Downtown more dense and bring more population to the core?
Right now the city is acting like were a very desired city! We’re not there yet!! Let’s start 2022 on the right foot!

The Treasurer of Peabody went to work 3 Monday’s ago to find one window of his office shot out. Not great.
A company willing to pay for 2 leases in order to get out of downtown doesn’t sound like a downsizing situation. It has everything to do with the safety of their employees.
Source?
How many people are randomly targeted for shootings, stabbings and armed robberies?

Then it's not about safety it's about posturing and magnifying the ridiculous fear of a handful of homeless people asking you for change.
Now, if they're going to state its because of the terrible street design Downtown that is, in fact, dangerous, that'd be another thing.

A highly reliable source.
The building has had at least 12 windows shot out over the past 18 months. Some of which were floors in which Peabody resides. A lot of this activity stems from the armed young kids that hang out in the plaza during weekends. It only takes a few weeks of a shattered window and a bullet lodged in your desk for people to question their safety. They've also had robberies while people were waiting to get into the parking garage underneath the building. One can cite all the stats in the world about their chances of being a victim vs these incidents but it won't change any minds.

Not sure using Guard resources to help with Peabody covid patients is wise.
I think 10 of those windows were from 2 accidents hours apart between 11pm and 2 am. City put a stop to gatherings of kids after that.STL1764 wrote: ↑Dec 22, 2021A highly reliable source.

I think your source may be the same as mine who said his employee had his tires slashed in the garage (car wasn’t broken into and no other car tires were slashed) I said maybe your employee shouldn’t owe people money. Nobody shows up to a controlled access garage and just slashes tires of a random car and leaves

The National Guard? Jesus Christ you people have a warped view of how things are. This is what happens when "news" organizations like OAN and FOX try to convince their viewers that liberal cities are war zones on a daily basis.

“You people”…..such a discriminatory phrase…anyway, losing a business HQ due to gun violence is not a good thing, at all.

Anywho- coal companies aren’t long for this world. Might as well take it out back and shot it now

Front Page Lofts is lit now
51 units + board of elections retains offices on first 2 floors
Same developer might be responding to the City’s RFP for the garage next door. He planned on making it not look like a garage but used as a garage.
