Looks like concrete block on the sides? ("Chicago style")

We might be redesigning the triangle intersection at Waterman, Laurel, and DeGiverville.
What would you do? Do you think it's a place where a shared space would work?
Here's what the traffic consultants came up with. I don't see a crosswalk across Laurel. I don't like that the crosswalk across DeG, while short because it's perpendicular to the street, is so far back.

Would be cool to relocate the westbound bus stop (north side of Waterman Blvd) to a nice bus only bay in the middle of the neighborhood.

I think it’d be worth it to vacate that section of street shaded in blue and give it to the neighborhood. There’s some art there already that I don’t know the history of, could be good to make that more of a statement piece for the neighborhood or build a new piece that highlights the neighborhood in some way.

In addition to what others have said, red lines should be added crosswalks with a couple extensions of the curb/yellow buffer area they are showing. Also blue dots seem like a cool way to add hammock spots. I live just a few blocks from here and have had this thought for awhile about this triangle.

Skinker DeBaliviere just needs to annex Southwest Garden, rename it to the Botanical Heights of Shaw, and then operate it as an enclave. What's so confusing about that?

Rehab of the home that had the fire on the 5700 block of DeGiverville looks like it is moving forward. They’ve got the floor for the upstairs rebuilt now.

I was just pointing out the Southwest Garden erasure! From my experience, I would say it is more oriented towards The Hill than to Shaw.Laife Fulk wrote: ↑Nov 16, 2021Skinker DeBaliviere just needs to annex Southwest Garden, rename it to the Botanical Heights of Shaw, and then operate it as an enclave. ^And I was pointing out how silly I think some of these neighborhoods are. For the fortieth time. Back to the west end.
Wow
. Chill guys. I posted that only as an example of what another neighborhood did with a pedestrian Island.

Is that real estate firm still moving into the bank building on DeBaliviere? There’s been no movement on it. Still hoping for a better use there.
