Apparently, 'Stadium' is a name that belongs to Pinnacle and since the casino is no longer a Pinnacle property, the name had to change. The same goes for 'Asia' I believe.

I believe when Colossus opened an St. Flags St. Louis in 1984, it was the tallest active Ferris Wheel in the US at 180 feet, which is taller than the new Ferris Wheel on Seattle's waterfront.BrickCity4470 wrote:How about a 630 ft ferris wheelHey that would beat out Las Vegas right? Awesome to see the Four Seasons continue to shine after the sale of the Casino Property.
1. The Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis has been named the best hotel in Missouri in U.S. News & World Report's latest list of Best Hotels in Missouri. The Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis came in at No. 2, followed by The Raphael Hotel in Kansas City.

Incredible hotel. Wifey and I stay there at least once per year. Great brunch. Killer house limo.
Ooo! Does this mean they'll get a new font?
I assume they're completely independent of C.J Muggs? Because I actually really like that corner that they're in right now.
Also completely random: Has Lumiere been cutting down on their restaurant hours? I've heard that they're supposed to have some 24/7 options but have been pretty let down any time I've walked through there (I try to work it into my downtown wandering, I'm not one for gambling).
I've noticed that the monthly casino numbers show that Lumiere has really been doing well lately. They've shown the most growth in revenue (compared to last year) for several months in a row.
Good, maybe they can start maintaining the Glowhawk. There are (or at least were last weekend) several panels out on it.

I haven’t heard anything regarding Lumiere removing the lighting that borders the tower. However, I’ve noticed that it appears to be covered with a brown material. Are they permanently removing the lighting or is it being repaired or temporarily shuttered? The tower looks awfully bland without the light board bordering the tower. Anyone heard what their plan is?

To be completely fair, I've always thought that light board was a dangerous distraction and lately it has also looked rather terrible as units failed for whatever reason. Would be curious on how many accidents its implicated in.
Does anyone know if this project received any city funding or incentives?
The gambling licenses were the incentive.ldai_phs wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2021Does anyone know if this project received any city funding or incentives?
Replying to a 7 year old comment, here's a fun fact: Colossus at Six Flags St. Louis didn't begin it's life as Colossus at Six Flags St. Louis. Much like the original Ferris Wheel from the 1904 World's Fair was a hand me down from the Chicago World's Fair of 1893, Colossus was a hand me down from the 1984 New Orleans World's Fair...gary kreie wrote: ↑Oct 03, 2014I believe when Colossus opened an St. Flags St. Louis in 1984, it was the tallest active Ferris Wheel in the US at 180 feet, which is taller than the new Ferris Wheel on Seattle's waterfront.BrickCity4470 wrote:How about a 630 ft ferris wheel  Hey that would beat out Las Vegas right? I never knew that Colossus wasn’t new when it opened at Six Flags. However, it actually didn’t open there until 1986.DTGstl314 wrote:Replying to a 7 year old comment, here's a fun fact: Colossus at Six Flags St. Louis didn't begin it's life as Colossus at Six Flags St. Louis. Ferris wheel hand me downs are common. IIRC the Navy Pier Ferris wheel got taken down and relocated to the strip in Branson.
That timing makes sense. The 1984 Louisiana World Exposition ran until mid-November 1984, and I imagine deconstruction of many of the fair installations in NOLA took place over several months, so it probably wasn't feasible to re-install it in St. Louis in time for the 1985 season.m2tbone wrote: ↑Jun 28, 2021I never knew that Colossus wasn’t new when it opened at Six Flags. The street in front of the Four Seasons has construction underway. I hope they are not planning on building some sort of restricted access barrier. It's very frustrating with all the recent street closures on the Landing, you can't even access the river via car anymore. Once again the actions of a few lawless are affecting the enjoyment of the many.
I think the Landing could use some parking lot redevelopment. More people in the neighborhood and eyes on the street may reduce crime on its own.southcitygent wrote:The street in front of the Four Seasons has construction underway. I think you're going to be very disappointed.southcitygent wrote: ↑Aug 21, 2021The street in front of the Four Seasons has construction underway. I think the landing should be 100% walkable neighborhood!! Cars kill the early 1900’s feel.
