Also, why you may agree or disagree with the methods, let us say that protesting because your family members are literally being killed by out-of-control law enforcement sounds a tad more valid excuse for a protest than some internet rumors that the election was stolen (even though there was overwhelming evidence produced by bipartisan organs that this was not the case).

Yea but why should people have to suffer who had nothing to do with it? So its ok to burn down a small business because you are mad? I fell the same about the people that tired to storm DC the people that burn buildings at a BLM roit are no better or worse then the rednecks in DC.kipfilet wrote: ↑Jan 10, 2021Also, why you may agree or disagree with the methods, let us say that protesting because your family members are literally being killed by out-of-control law enforcement sounds a tad more valid excuse for a protest than some internet rumors that the election was stolen (even though there was overwhelming evidence produced by bipartisan organs that this was not the case).

This is a good troll attempt. Nothing more. Don’t engage and they’ll eventually go away.
I do think that some of the images from last Summer's demonstrations - protestors pulling down public monuments as police watch, for example - have led to a general feeling of permissiveness; that large groups of loud, angry people can get away with behavior not normally tolerated.

100 percent agree. Police need to be harder on violent unrest dose not matter if it is BLM, Proud boys, Antifa , or hard right wing groups. things get worse if the police let itframer wrote: ↑Jan 10, 2021I do think that some of the images from last Summer's demonstrations - protestors pulling down public monuments as police watch, for example - have led to a general feeling of permissiveness; that large groups of loud, angry people can get away with behavior not normally tolerated.

You're right, they should impeach BLM. That makes sense.Thatguy644 wrote: ↑Jan 10, 2021So why BLM got away with looting fires all summer then? What happen in DC was horrible but BLM dose deserve the same push back.
Also do you all really think josh hawley will lose any election in MO? ( he wont) Impeachment after trump would be bad politics why waste Biden's first 100 days going after a guy that will not be in office while a pandemic is gearing up for covid 2.0 and the us economy is in taters.

ABC News: Armed protests being planned at all 50 state capitols, FBI bulletin says
Looks like it's not over for a while yet. Be safe out there y'all. Keep vigilant. See something, say something. Stay frosty.Starting this week and running through at least Inauguration Day, armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols and at the U.S. Capitol, according to an internal FBI bulletin obtained by ABC News.
The FBI has also received information in recent days on a group calling for “storming” state, local and federal government courthouses and administrative buildings in the event President Donald Trump is removed from office prior to Inauguration Day. The group is also planning to “storm” government offices in every state the day President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated, regardless of whether the states certified electoral votes for Biden or Trump.
"The FBI received information about an identified armed group intending to travel to Washington, DC on 16 January," the bulletin read. "They have warned that if Congress attempts to remove POTUS via the 25th Amendment, a huge uprising will occur."

I figured that something was going to take place on inauguration day.
Perhaps the public sentencing of perps in D.C. will get a few idiots to stay home.

Yeah, they've got to file some serious charges against those asses from last week, make it VERY public, and make sure people know ahead of time that this behavior is not tolerated.

^&^^ Yeah, I'm hoping for some "perp walks" of insurgents being broadcast coast to coast dissuading some potential "bad actors". Same time, I don't think these alone will necessarily curtail all the wackos out there, especially those who truly believe that they are the last line of defense for God and country. Also, when some animals feel cornered, they're more prone to lash out more viciously. This is a time to be extra careful, not necessarily fearful, but aware of one's surroundings, especially I'd think in government buildings and right now the state capitol.
They should make a new PSA to these halfwits:
If you're guilty of a felony, you lose your right to vote and your right to own firearms.

Everything these clowns have been charged with so far is about 10year max but you’ll see superseding charges later
Now if you want to see some hilarious sh*t see the #noflylist tag on Twitter as some of these idiots are getting taken off flights because airlines are flagging them

Expanding on that...has anyone seen this supercut of arrests from the siege overlaid with "Layla" like Goodfellas?dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jan 11, 2021Now if you want to see some hilarious sh*t see the #noflylist tag on Twitter as some of these idiots are getting taken off flights because airlines are flagging them
Pretty good stuff lol:

Hopefully, but here's a terrifying thought - if he wanted to, Trump could issue a blanket pardon for all crimes committed at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday (since it happened in DC on federal property, all charges brought will be federal charges) - up to an including the individual(s) responsible for the death of the Capitol Police officer. I'd like to think he's not that much of a monster, but would anybody really be surprised if he pulled such a stunt as his last act on the way out the door?dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jan 11, 2021Everything these clowns have been charged with so far is about 10year max but you’ll see superseding charges later
Yes, it is possible to issue a blanket pardon for an entire group of people without naming individual people - Jimmy Carter did it for every man who violated the Military Selective Service Act between 1964 and 1973 to avoid being sent to Vietnam.
The only reason I think he might not do it is because it would likely backfire on him bigtime in the senate impeachment trial that will take place after he's out of office - I think such a horrifying abuse of the pardon power would absolutely lead at least 17 Republicans to finally stand up to him and vote for his conviction. At least I would certainly hope so.

That was absolutely beautiful! Also if you've seen the video of the guy crying in the airport when he found out he's on the no fly list because...terrorist---complete with the Curb Your Enthusiasm end music. Chef's kiss for both of them.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Jan 12, 2021Expanding on that...has anyone seen this supercut of arrests from the siege overlaid with "Layla" like Goodfellas?dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jan 11, 2021Now if you want to see some hilarious sh*t see the #noflylist tag on Twitter as some of these idiots are getting taken off flights because airlines are flagging them

^^DTG: Even if there is a blanket pardon issued, we could always see punishment for those participants who are retired military. The US Armed Forces can change the status of those who committed insurrection & broke into the Capitol to being dishonorably discharged, even retroactively to those who are retired. If one has been dishonorably discharged, they would lose their military pensions. Plus, of course, the sting one would receive from being dishonorably discharged should one attempt to get a new job. I also would think that multiple police departments across the country could do something similar if they so choose.
I'm not sure if someone who committed a felony, and receives a Presidential pardon, receives back their rights either to vote or to own a firearm.
Any lawyers out there know if this would be possible?

They do. A pardon effectively restores all rights lost due to a conviction - the right to vote, the right to bear arms, the right to hold public office. It was noted at the time of Roger Stone's pardon that he would be able to legally own firearms again with the pardon.gone corporate wrote: ↑Jan 12, 2021I'm not sure if someone who committed a felony, and receives a Presidential pardon, receives back their rights either to vote or to own a firearm.

In the event of a blanket pardon for the Capitol insurrectionists, it would be for people who haven't yet been convicted of any crimes (that also can be done - see Nixon, Richard), so it wouldn't even be about a restoration of lost rights, because those rights would not have yet been lost.
Owning the libs. Making the rubes love him more and making them more willing to send him $9.95/month for Trump TV streaming service, coming 2022. Yeah, I realize that's an extremely petty motivation to do something like this, but remember who we're talking about here. He's issued other pardons recently where he didn't have anything personally to gain - the Blackwater murderers, for instance.Bart Harley Jarvis wrote: ↑Jan 12, 2021The only reason he won't do it is because there's nothing in it for him. I'm inclined to think it's more likely that he won't do it than that he will, but c'mon... would it really surprise you if he did it? Is there anything left in the universe that could plausibly be viewed as beyond the pale even for him?
So... it's gonna happen. Tomorrow, Donald Trump will become the first president in our nation's 240+ year history to ever have been impeached twice.
He'll also be the first president to ever be impeached during the transition period after having lost an election. I don't expect the senate trial to commence until after Biden is sworn in, will be interesting to see how that goes. Odds are still pretty strong that he gets acquitted, but only because the threshold for conviction is so insanely high - it's hard to see 17 Republican senators having the spines to defy the wishes of MAGA nation. I do think we'll see more than one GOP senator vote for conviction this time, and probably at least 3 or 4.

According to NYT McConnell thinks trump committed impeachable offenses......
^ Just read that. Not only that but McConnell is “pleased that Democrats are moving to impeach” Trump.
Thinks it’ll be easier to purge Trump from the party this way...I’m not so sure about that though...

Her father is still a war criminal, but it's good to see even staunchly conservative House members get on the impeachment train...

You’ll see about 20-30 Republicans vote to impeach. It’s going to put a sizzling hot potato in the heads of all the 2022 GOP senators, especially the ones in blue/purple states
