I felt it was time to create a thread of its own for the BJC Neuroscience Research building.

This is a $616 million dollar building that will be the largest neuroscience research facility in the country when completed. Located at the corner of Duncan and Newstead. 609,000 square feet and an ~1800 space attached garage. Designed by Perkins and Will and Cannon Design.

Update from today 6/12/20: Foundation work continues and they are moving full speed ahead on excavating the sub levels.

Looks like...an office building. Great to have infill coming though. They love their elevated walkways.

Wash U builds some great buildings on the Hilltop Campus, but most of their medical campus buildings are ho-hum.

Drove by the other day, this is going to have some serious sub levels. Also the site looks so much bigger once it was excavated. This is going to be a beast.

Yeah this building is going to have a big presence compared to the rest of Cortex.  Anyone know when 4210's crane will go up?

I went down by 4210 yesterday and didn’t see a sign of a place for a crane. Normally they would have a box excavated for a crane, but they don’t.

I'm not sure what the height of this building is going to be, but it should be at least as tall as that crane is now.

Steel, huh? Interesting. This one will get framed out quickly, then.

Not sure when they lit it up. I just noticed it coming back into town a couple days ago.

Also of note: the Saturn and Jupiter photobomb in the upper right corner.  Image is not from today, obviously. It's from 9:11 PM, Friday.

More cranes should be lit up like this. Many other construction sites in other cities do it and it acts like an added accent in the skyline and considering most lighting is vertical on buildings, cranes can add nice horizontal lighting. I was in KC this past December and they had 3 or 4 lit up blue in this same manner all fairly close together.

The Neuroscience Building is progressing. Pictures don't pick it up, but some pillars have been placed in the hole.
