Why do they need a property tax abatement? They just built an apartment building across the street. I find it peculiar that, if the market is as robust as it seems, they still need property tax abatement to make this development work.

Cause they know that if they ask they will likely get something. How many times has the city denied it with a project like this lately?

This is now known as Chelsea. I think it's cheesy but whatever

They must think the "TriBeCa" name used on the building across the street worked out.

There was a big hole the last time I went by. Maybe progress has stopped.

I'm with ya... Not necessarily saying that no subsidy should be given, but 10 yr. 85% imo is excessive at this point for that area, esp. since it isn't providing any affordable housing and/or putting a historic building back in play.

Doesn't look like much in the pics, but when you see it in person, you get the sense of how big this thing's gonna be.

Yet another one of those flattop cranes. At least we have projects underway that require tower cranes. It will be nice to have a few up during the economic uncertainty time. I expect to see 5 or 6 new ones pop up soon. That would give us 8 in the sky at once.

BPV and One Hundred Cranes should be coming down by the end of the month or early May.

Some new renderings of the project. LuxLiving posted these on Facebook along with a "pre-leasing for October 1st, 2020". Seems like an ambitious time line.
