UrbanSTL Insult Thread - No Insults In Other Threads!

This idea originated from thread hijacking by testosterone-based (estrogen?) conflict. Let's work to keep threads on track. Conflict-resolution can take place here and not in other, more substantive threads.

Oh, and no punching below the belt! What potential matchups are possible?

- Central Scrutinizer vs. phoaddict?

- Doug vs. Suburbia?

Insult threads are stupid Innov8tion, what is this asshattery?

hey, it WORKS!!!! Bwahahahahahaaaa.

I like it. I used to just PM people, but now I will invite them to a duel in the insult thread. But doesn't this violate the terms and conditions?

Wait a minute! Insult thread? I have an idea: Terms and conditions are stupid! I deride them emphatically! I question the legitimacy of their patrilineal descent! Terms and conditions' mother got spit-roasted by the Bosleys and, and,.......the father of terms and conditions resides at the Mark Twain Hotel!!!

Don't forget that forum rules are still in effect, most importantly

personal attacks

No personal attacks. This includes obscenities, verbal harassment or comments that would prove offensive based on race, religion, sex, age, location of residence or employment, opinions or sexual orientation, lifestyle orientation, diet orientation. Attack the issue, not the person. At the same time, try not to be easily offended. Disagreement is normal here.

We'll discuss whether this thread is a good idea or not, and as usual, decisions are based on our rules and how people act.

Doug vs. suburbia? I will attack suburbia in any thread where the opportunity arises. If you don't like my comments then go post at Stl Today Forums. I'm sure they will like your pro-suburban ideals.

You guys might find this hard to believe, but this is actual footage my parents shot of either Jive or Gasm (I can't remember) when we were in kindergarten together. They thought that I had gotten rid of it!!! NOPE.

***** you both. End the detente and erupt into an orgy of conflict. Imagine if Khrushchev didn't back off and Kennedy didn't remove the missiles from Turkey.

... and imagine if Doug's mom didn't smell of suburban elderberries!

http://extension.osu.edu/~news/story.php?id=3030 wrote:Dear Twig: My older brother teases me. He says I “smell of elderberries.” Hmm. So what are elderberries? And what do they smell like anyway?

Elderberries are small trees or bushes that belong to the scientific genus Sambucus. Elderberries grow in the wild — they’re common — and people plant them in gardens, too.

Why? Because elderberries are berries, as well. They grow — you guessed it! — on elderberry plants. People plant the plants so they can pick, cook and eat the berries that grow. The berries are used to make all sorts of things like jam and juice and pies and wine. (Avoid the roots, stems and leaves, though. They’re poisonous. Details next week.)

Now, the smell of the berries is actually pleasant. So is the scent of the flowers. But the stems are a different story. They stink — a smell described as foul and rank, heavy and skunky, and also as being like cat urine. Yike!

Tell your brother you’re a berry, not a stem, and also that he’s a hamster.

phoaddict vs. central scrotum? same as saying happy "youth" vs. bitter old men .... :D

Just to let fellow st. louisans know: CHICAGO BLOWS and is overrated... I woke up this expecting a nice spring day...and it's snowing and icing outside. I walk to the bus every morning. It's so bad that its hard to walk directly down the sidewalk (its like the 35th day like this) cause the wind and snow together is like a weapon of sand thrown into a high speed fan and stings severely any exposed skin. It is brutal.

Thank the lord im coming home for easter. God bless st. louis. Don't take it for granted - our winters arent bad at all.

this winter in St. Louis blew, but it would have been considered an unseasonably warm one in Chi-Town. It's one of the reasons I could never live there (the others being affordability and just the fact that I like STL better). The occasional 60 and 70 degree days in Jan. and Feb. we have in the lower Midwest just don't occur in places like Chicago or Wisconsin.

Well they do, but you gotta wait till almost Memorial Day to go outside without a coat!

Very true statement. Last year here, i had my coat on till around end of may. You'd get a few days in the 70s here in may, and everyone is like "its sooo warm!!!". I just roll my eyes.

If I live in the Midwest, I would live in the lower midwest, and St. Louis is the best the lower midwest has to offer, so my choice would be St. Louis by a long shot.

The most depressing thing is when you look at weather back home and the high is 68 when the high here is 31 :(. It's only 5 hours away but the climate is so different! You never realize how relatively mild st. louis until you live up north! :D

and then why bother to put your coat away because you'll need it again in mid-September. And if you are still there in October prepare to be depressed again when you see that STL is having a beautiful 70 degree fall day and you guys are struggling to get out of the lower 40's :(

the motto of my life is if I have to leave St. Louis, don't move an inch North!
