No, we are above you peons. :D

Juice, I said to keep personal attacks out of this thread, just like anywhere else. This is in good fun, venting stem. Not attacking people. That is still against the rules.

This could be a problem in Missouri and with at least some segment of our posters. You need to specify whether you're venting embryonic or adult stem.

Oops. That's another thread entirely. In this case, I would think we are all venting adult ones.

I meant that it wasn't the first time you mods have moved a post and deleted the whole thread (and I can reference the Lambert thread that got deleted last year - which was started under my old name, but I won't begrudge you that). In any case, moderators should take more care when moving threads. If the software is to blame, update the software.

I'm in violation of my ban because certain people were too cowardly to answer the multiple e-mails I sent asking why I was banned in the first place. Yeah, I know I was warned, and then one day, boom, IP ban. Not even a courtesy e-mail to say I'd been banned. Classy. And I remember the post well - I basically called out the urbanites saying they actually owed the suburbanites for even having a city to begin with. For some reason, I guess that upset a few people ::shrug::

Doug was allowed back, who IMO offers less to the forum than I do. He doesn't play the race card so much as play the race deck. It'd be funny if it weren't so predictable. And of course, that doesn't even begin to touch on CS, who IS IN DIRECT VIOLATION of the terms of use, by constantly posting one sentence, inflamatory posts. He must have some revealing photos.

But it's nice to see the John Wayne ego trip is still alive and well.

"Stop being a jack*ss" is no different than "stop being stupid," so I'd hardly call it a personal attack.

Yep, accidents happen once in a while. To tell you the truth, I couldn't have told you who started the Lambert thread.

As for your ban, I have no comment. I didn't ban you, but you know it was more than just one post.

Doug asked to be allowed back on to the forum, and apologized to the owner of the site for what he was banned for.

CS, well, I agree, but I don't think we really want to ban a guy for trying to be witty. Even if it's not good, and rather annoying.

Carrieocity, if you want to see more, just get me a bit angry while doing homework and losing my mind.

For everyone else, it wouldn't be a bad thing if we were all nicer to each other once in a while. I don't think people here realize how many influential people are lurking in this place. If you're good, they come out of hiding once in a while, and they are looking for what we have to say about things.

I think it's also worth noting that back when you got banned it was 10X more strict under urbanstlouis. CS probably would have been banned too on his watch. Different times. I think Matt has been pretty even handed with everyone since he took over, just more lax which isn't bad.

Bringing issues of race onto this forum doesn't violate the terms of use. I wasn't banned because of my opinions. I was banned because I told the owner of the forum to do something rather unpleasant. It was disrespectful.

What I've learned, since my ban, is that personal attacks should be avoided. There are ways of discussing controversial topics without insulting someone.

Right, and saying things like "frontally lobotomized Republican retard." Nothing personal about that at all.

General Criticism: I've been away from this site for a bit, logging back in today to catch up on construction news. In reading multiple posts, it came back to me how negative and pessimistic so many prodigious posters of this forum are.

Good Lord, does everything have to be doom and gloom, the sky is falling, and self-enlightenment dribble?

Why does damn near every course of action in every thread have to be spat upon by outsiders looking from a distance and not over the construction papers, the finance documents, or the business plan?

If a building is bought, must it immediately be assumed planned for a parking lot, with the purchasers ravaged as destroyers of previously-uncared for US History?

If no breaking news happens within 3 weeks of a project, can we hold back the "is it still on or failed?" posts, at least until the full month has passed?

And can we stop being mad that the City and County are separate entities if the rest of the time is spent criticizing the County for being home to suburbanites who don't have the urbane wit and perceived intellect of those mighty posters?

"You nerve-wrecking sonsabitches. It's like playing cards with my brother's kids."

To those offended at this:

Calm down, walk to your bathroom mirror, take a deep breath, look at yourself, then punch the reflection. If you can still see yourself, headbutt it repeatedly.
