There is a differnece in the "walk to games" between U and I. I have season tickets for Cards and we make it to at the least 40 games. Also, all Rams games and a lot of Blues games. For me (personally), much further than 20th st. would have been an issue (Yes..... I guess I am lazy).

Personally, Westgate (and several others mentioned) are integral in bridging the gap between DT and Grand in the next few years.

I don't think Ventana is almost out of the zone. It is right in the thick of it. Look around you, you can just rotate your head and see 9 other major loft developements. I would say that this area might be the most highly concentrated residential area down here. Just wait till Ely is done and retail is in there and in Ventana. This little spot will be hustlin and bustlin.

Good point.

Now for something light. Though I do not want to speculate, I would LOVE for a late night coffee shop in the retail space. Wonder if someone from Jacob Dev. has any leads......

Move in is complete.

There were just one thing outstanding inside my unit. The windows had a draft. This was fixed promptly.

I wanted to hang some heavy pictures and asked Rich or Paric for suggestions. Not only did he give me good advice, but also let me borrow some tools to get the job done. Credit given where due.

Looking at North city right now. Tis BEAUTIFUL.

Leaving for Mardi Gras soon......party on.

Congrats and welcome to the neighborhood. I promise it'll be more exciting when walking a few blocks doesn't feel life threatening.

I am finally getting the internet thru my electrical outlet. It is a shared 6 Mb connection, so as the users grow, it is bound to get slower. At this time, tis all good.....

River City internet Group, in conjunction with Ameren. They are calling it BPL (Broadband over Power Lines)

How many units total? Because that's gonna slow it down considerably if people are on. I've got Charter 3 Mg, and I'm looking to upgrade.

We're gettting so impatient as a society. When 3M download speeds are just too slow.

You are correct about eventual slowdown. At this point, it is a 6M shared connection, with an "option" for 10M dedicated (at a cost of course).

First of all..... absolutely LOVE living in the Ventana.

Secondly.... Need someone's recommendation for Window shades/blind place. The windows are HUGE (vertically and horizontally) and custom is the only way to go. Don't want to spend a whole lot (surprise), but would like to get some quotes.

Now...... last year I got some references, but cannot find the mail. Can someone please post, specially if you have used the service in the past or can comfortably endorse someone.

Mine were custom-made from Wincon Design Resource, http://www.wincondesignresource.com/, out of Brentwood and I'm very pleased. I'll edit this post later with a picture of the shades.

Thanks innov8ion.

I went on their web site, and I think this is more of an Interior design company. Definitely worth looking into.

Photos of your shades will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Here is the only shot I have available of the shades I put in at my old place over at Printer's. The windows over there are almost identical to what you have. I broke the large windows into three separate shades as allowed for better control of how much light I wanted entering my space. The shades are Hunter Douglas Roller Shades and I used Two Blind Guys. PM me if you want the guy's contact number.

What's going on with the retail space in this building? It almost seems as if they're not working on it.

Why wouldn't the city/county look into this instead of wi-fi?

PostApr 05, 2007#347

1) There aren't electical outlets everywhere (like most places outside)

2) People don't want to have to buy a special adaptor when notebooks almost all come with wi-fi cards these days.

3) Wi-fi means no cords at all ... which is significantly better than anything with cords.

I think he was referring to the post above his about the city adopting this technology instead of citywide wi-fi. And in which case, he's exactly right. Citywide this wouldn't work because it would require everyone to connect a modem to the electric outlet first. However, for an alternative to DSL or cable, it sounds great.

This is the point. Wasn't a good part of the attraction of this to provide Internet to all homes/families? Just about every hotel, coffee house, airport, etc. already has wi-fi. I don't think it would be much of a tourist incentive either.
