I would assume its by permit, and if they have the permit, it should be legit...but just a guess.

And what...There used to be DD's everywhere here. Not that I'm a big donut guy, but I'm sure there are some around here somewhere...

Nope, looked online...nothing.

There is no extra spot in the building. Units only get one spot except for penthouses which get two. However, 35 spots on the ground floor have lifts so you could park two cars in one spot if you buck up the cash. I think it would take some coordination to rent the use of your lift to a non-resident. I mean, say your car is parked on top and his on bottom -- And you need to get out. Uhhhhhhh??

cbroy2544 wrote:The pay parking lots behind (south) the building and across Washington in front on Mosiac are $80 per month. Hope that helps. I'm not sure about the pricing/value of the extra spot in the building. Does anyone know if you can rent your own spot out to nonresidents???

I took new pictures from the 6th floor on Saturday: http://digistic.com/gallery/main.php?g2 ... itemId=946. These pics are a bit dated but still cool as far as i'm concerned! http://digistic.com/gallery/main.php?g2 ... _itemId=14

As you can see from the first link, construction is alive and well. Notice there are also pictures of the light well. Enclosed in the light well will be an aesthetically-pleasing garden for the units that have access.

innov8ion, thanks for the pics!! I am currently debating on buying a unit in the light garden and wonder if anyone has opinions on how that will be. It seems nice, but believe the lack of windows in the unit might seem drab??

Thanks!

I just put money down on a unit last week and forgot about any available info (other than the stack of admin stuff). What else is out there?

I understand how you feel ckeefe. But I'm convinced that I will be impressed with the final product. Especially after speaking with one of the owners.

Also, the new renderings of the light garden have actual balconies (really!) for the ligt garden units. However I was told that they are still debating if that's going to be done (could be a selling stategy; I've seen plenty of renderings that did not come out in the finished prodcut). But other than that, I'm excited. Seems that the quality of the units will be good. We'll see!!!!

I bought on the light well and went in to see the finished product last week. The light well is even bigger than I thought it would be. Unfortunately they have a tarp over it but you could tell that even on the 2nd floor where I bought, light would come down. I bought on the light well without hesitation. This was partly because I lived on a basement apartment light well in Boston while I was in college. While living in Boston it never occurred to me that I didn't have enough light and I certainly saw the sky and got natural light into my little apartment. Furthermore, I thought the zen garden would be more attractive than some of the other views. Last week I learned that not only will they have a zen garden but they have returned to the original idea of having the water run down the length of the back wall of the light well. That is going to be amazing! I think it is a great buy. I took a peek at some of the flooring prices and I think wood for the living room/kitchen/entry hallway zone is going to be around $7000, I only saw briefly as they were demonstrating the upgrade selection system but if that is correct, I'm planning on $10k to do the whole place. I am disappointed that they have elimintated the concrete staining as an option, I'm trying to see what else I can do on my own and what I can convince them to do for me. Overall they have some really nice upgrade choices, I'm just sorry that some of the ones that I was sold on have been eliminated but I think that is normal in these projects.

Shelby, I had my concrete floors stained and they turned out amazing. If you want more info, pm me and I'll send you the name of the guy who did it and I can give you a link to see some of his work. Just FYI, I had the stain done starting the day I closed on my loft. It is about a 5 day process so had to sightly delay my move-in but was well worth it.

What does it cost to have concrete floors stained? Would you mind sending me some finished pictures as well? Im curious to hear what kind of flooring people have been putting in their lofts; combo of hardwood, concrete, carpet in bedrooms?

The best price I've gotten so far is $2.55/ ft. My problem is that if they refuse to leave my floors unsealed it will cost an additional $2.35/ft to strip them. I am going to see how well they will work with me on that.

After much research and review including information from many current unit owners on this website, I signed a contract for a unit yesterday! Needless to say, I'm very excited about this project and am looking forward to personalizing my unit with a some upgrades. I too am curious about a stained concrete option as well as general flooring upgrades that other unitowners are planning for their respective units. I am relocating to STL so I do not have the fortunate of knowing where I can obtain good work locally for any post closing upgrades and/or if I'll go with the developer on such upgrades. Any information that you can share re: stained concrete, including pictures would be awesome and much appreciated. Feel free to PM me to further discuss.

Hey I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of the work going on inside? I am living in California right now so its a bit hard to get back and see the progress. Also I am curious to see about how much people are spending on options and if they are giving allowances if you want to do without the included option and do something on your own. Im really excited about this place and I am going to have to do all of my options selections via the database, so Im trying to get all my ducks in a row.

Completion, closing, and move in timelines anyone?

Things are progressing very well. I took these pics yesterday of a Unit 4: http://digistic.com/gallery/main.php?g2 ... temId=1208

I plan on spending about 10k on options but this should be dependent on your tastes, how much of the work you plan on doing on your own and other factors. You can negotiate with them on any item but I have had no experience with it...

Interesting article on "water jet" or whirlpool tubs versus "air jet" or soaking tubs: http://doityourself.com/baths/whirlpool.htm

They're offering a 72" whirlpool tub as a $1500 upgrade but I see a 72" bubblemassager tub also from kohler that may be better and it should be able to fit in the same space. Here is their upgrade: http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/ ... category=9

and here is what I may want to negotiate with them on: http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/ ... category=9

I'd really like to see better upgrades for showers. I've seen research that says people don't have the time to take relaxing baths but everyone showers so it may pay to splurge more on the shower than the bath..... But since there are no great shower options, I'll just go with what they've got and upgrade down the road.

The Meridian just agreed to allow Master Crete to stain our floors. It will be a customization cost but his prices were reasonable. They said that they would group the jobs to give us the best deal if anyone inquired about having that done.

What kind of prices are we talking about for what they do? I'm considering doing all the common areas, i.e. hallway kitchen and living room? Do they have a website, and when you say the Meridian is allowing them to do the staining, are you able to lump the staining cost into the final price of the unit?

PostFeb 25, 2006#95

Has anyone finished their options selections? I am going to be working on them this weekend. I was curious to see if there are any other x04 plan owners here besides myself and Dave up on the 6th floor. Im really kind of confused on doing these upgrade selections long distance.

I find it a bit odd tha the flooring options are due on on Monday and we have not received an email indicating that we are allowed to work with Master-Crete to do the staining?

Anyway, I received info from another user in this forum who had Master-Crete stain his floors. He advised to me that it is a one-person operation and the guy's name is Marvin Penock. In addition to staining the floors he also stained this individual's concrete window sills to match and made concrete tiles, to put into my kitchen backsplash.

He does have a website at www.master-crete.com.

Hope that helps!

Probably affects only the lower floors for now. I'm on the 6th floor and haven't been informed of a deadline.

Sorry for the confusion. I should clarify that we rec'd an email from The Meridian on 2/19 that stated the floor selections for floors 2-5 is due on Monday, February 27th. None-the-less, for those on floors 2-5, we have not rec'd an email indicating that staining is a 'new' flooring option.

Does anyone have any contact inf other that the Civitas Dev. email and the 231-1001 ph #? I have been calling them and every time I call nobody answers. Its kind of pissing me off since options were due 15 min ago, and I haven't been able to complete them without some of my questions being answered. Has anyone else had a problem contacting them? Thanks for any help.
