Glad to hear some 4th floor residents are closing! Two more people moved in on 3rd over the weekend, so it's nice to see the building filling up.

I haven't been up to the roof yet, but the front lobby looks great!

Good luck with your moves, HBM and STLChristy! I'm sure you'll have lots to do between now and your move-in date, but it'll be worth it!

just had the walkthrough in 410, and the entire building looks great - halls, garage, loft, etc. My camera battery died right away so I apologize for not taking any pictures......anyways, expectations have been met and surpassed, and I'm looking forward to meeting the neighbors. close on 8/9

Glad to hear you're walkthrough went well and you're pleased with your loft and the building in general. I agree. I'm totally satisfied with the place and am enjoying living here. The front lobby and elevator are open now as are the roof decks. I took a quick look tonight after work and they look great, although no tables, chairs or anything are up there yet. I don't know if the association buys those or if Pyramid does, but I remember that the Railroad Lofts had them. Hope your move goes well! Mine ended up happening right during a parade but we found room for the truck and it worked out.

I hate you guys.

Just sit there in your cool little lofts all by yourselves.

I'm so jealous.

WAH WAH WAH! You'll be here before you know it, Brian! In the meantime, stop by for a visit!

Thought you might want to know I got my first electric bill today for the month of July. It was $145 which I thought was reasonable as I used my dishwasher, washer and dryer much more frequently that I normally would and also didn't have roller shades on my windows yet. Considering the heat we've had, i suspect that will be my highest bill ever and once I go on budget billing it'll even out I suspect to around $100 per month.

Question: Are there plans to illuminate the facade of the Bankers Lofts? I drove by last night and it seemed like it could use some lights out front.

I know The Meridian will be illuminated. It would be cool if everyone did the same thing.

That's great to hear. A nighttime drive down Washington is a pretty impressive sight these days, and it sounds like things are only going to get better.

When the Bogen is lit up at night, that will really make a big difference.

Was able to snap a couple of pics of the lobby's progress and thought you all might like to see. A couple of the shots are a tad blurry but you get the idea of how it is shaping up.

FYI...anyone needing a place to rent while you wait for your unit to be completed: We got a place month-to-month at Rudman on the Park and they are very reasonable and work with you!

For all of you that are supposed to close in August and September, have any of you been delayed or pushed back?

I was given an approximate move in date of late July/August when I went to contract last August. There was a delay earlier in the year that pushed things back 4-6 weeks. I have a closing scheduled for Sept 15th. So being about 2 weeks off the estimate from a year ago I think is pretty good.

You'll all love it here. The place is filling up fast and it's just a great place to live. Five fourth floor residents have closed now, so it seems they're sticking to their revised schedule. Good luck with your moves!

We were originally told July/August, then September. Our closing date is currently set for Oct. 6.

Our unit, though, is the staging unit for the whole floor, so each day that another unit is late probably adds more time to ours, I'm guessing. We were told ours would be the last to close on the floor (we have that bulk hoist thing in our window).

I was looking at picking up a range for my unit over the weekend and one of the sales representatives asked me what kind of ventilation system was utilized. I could not answer this. Does anyone know how a slide in range located in the island ventilates?

Thanks

It doesn't. I asked Stirling this question, so I'll post his reply ...

"The island ranges are gas and there are no range hoods (imagine the construction nightmare of venting all of those individually!). In these buildings (Dorsa included) there are 3 points regarding ventilation: 1. The city code for venting stoves of any kind calls for so many square feet/inches of “openable” windows within so many feet of the appliance. Since the windows are abundant, this base it touched. 2. The hallways are pressurized throughout the building, forcing air toward all units—this helps to eliminate odors, but more importantly forces air into the unit via any means possible (under doors, when doors are opened, etc.). 3. Every unit is vented to the exterior via vents in the bathroom(s) that run 24/7 (picture a hotel where you don’t have to flip a switch when you go into the bath). This system is very effective in “pulling” air through the unit perpetually, thus clearing the air. It works."

So there you go.

I have the same system and it has never been an issue. But a friend of mine who has the same set up installed a range that has a section for grilling and everytime they use the grill it sets off the smoke alarm.

When we were picking our range, we just made sure it didn't need to be vented - any range with a grill will require venting. We've had no problems at all.

I guess you could always buy a big fan and point it out a window.

By the way ... how's life in Bankers?

So far so good! Seems like there's new people here every week so that's cool. Construction is moving along. The buckhoist is gone and the gym looks like it's about ready for equipment to be moved in. Living downtown is sweet. We love it.

Gym equipment was delivered today. True Fitness made in St. Louis. :smt023

Also, a nice table from Crate & Barrel has been placed in the front lobby.

Just in time for me to use it. I close in a week.

So what did they all put in there?

A treadmill, a bike, a weight bench with a set of Bowflex SelectTech Dumbells and an Eliptical. I'm really glad to see the True equipment - I've done work for True and their stuff is really the best.
