as i understand it, yes, there will be a workout facility.

Yeah, I believe we were told that part of our condo fees were for maintenance of a gym.

Yes. Didn't we get a letter recently that said there would be a facility on first floor near the parking garage? I think there was going to be free weights, a stairmaster, recumbant bicycle, treadmill and a few other pieces.
I've been out of town and just got back tonight. I drove by the building and they have all the arched windows on 7th floor in place on the front facade. They look great! I was disappointed to see no progress on the green marble, since were were told they'd be starting around the 15th. I suspect they'll wait until next week now. I usually don't see much work being done on Friday's around there.
Anyone schedule their closing yet? I locked in on my rate this week through National City Bank. Rates were down earlier in the week so it was a good time to lock in.

I hope this hasn't been mentioned before, but what are the chances of getting the "evil fish heads" on this building to spout steam like they're doing up the street at the Bee Hat Lofts?

Hey Mike...I signed my realtor contract today and my condo goes on the market on Monday with a realtor's open house on Tuesday. My realtor thinks it will sell fast even though the market has slowed down, so I sure hope so! Hopefully i'm in my 45 day window for moving. Otherwise I may be be looking at Vanguard or other options. How're you liking downtown living so far? I'm sure getting excited!
well, i gotta tell ya, i can't lie.... i'm loving it! i'd prefer to be in my unit at bankers but at least i'm in the 'hood. i just finished a 2 week project at a company that is on washington & 13th so it was great to be able to walk to work everyday. i love my cars but i still love the idea of walking to work.
what's interesting is the convention groups. last week we had arbonne ladies proliferating the streets and this week its the national convention of teachers or mathmatics... who's next?!?! it's like an entire population moves in and out each week. kinda fun especially if you are into people watching like i am.
our dogs have taken to the streets like champs. one of them has decided that she likes to stop and 'go' as we are crossing the street. we've learned to make sure we have a 'walk' before we cross.
i spoke to pyramid and as i understand it they had some inspections on Friday (yesterday), and are having more early next week. sooooo... it looks like as long as everything goes well with that we should be within 30 days of closing the 2nd floor - but of course - no promises.
where's your condo? maybe my wife and i will come by and put some pressue on the people who show up!
well, if you do have to rent, i tell ya, vangard is prefect. out of the three serious options we looked at, they were the best. not the cheapest, they were in the middle. but they were the only building that had available parking inside/attached to the building. pyramid was going to do a month-2-month for me at paul brown and rudman lofts would do a 2 month lease i think.

Glad to year you're enjoying downtown living! I hear you, though, about getting into the Bankers Lofts. They're still saying they'll get me in on third floor by the middle of June. I sure hope so because I'm locked in on my rate now and want to close on my condo in the next 45 days. I was the first to have my pre-dry wall walkthrough, so I should be the first to move in on third floor. Pyramid tells me the unit is done except for the final finish/polishing of the floor and final coat of paint on the walls.
My condo is in the Skinker-Debalivere area just 1 1/2 blocks east of Skinker on Waterman. It's close to Wash U and the new (not yet opened) Skinker/Forest Park Parkway Metrolink stop. The last several condos in this area that went on the market sold the day they were listed, so I'm hoping the lucky streak continues. My realtor thinks it will go fast.
I hear the model in 305 is done now and will be in some kind of tour on 5/12. Would that be the Spring loft tour? Tickets are $15 so I'm going to buy one and hopefully can take a sneak peak at my unit as well as it's just down the hall.
Have you found much green space for your dogs? I'm thinking of getting one now that I'll finally be able to go home for lunch, but I was wondering about that lack of green space and how a dog deals with that. Sounds like yours are having no problem other than wanting to stop traffic!
I'm a people watcher, too. Since I work at 911 Washington, I see all the convention crowd. 20,000 Arbonne ladies? 15,000 math teachers? You ain't seen nuttin' yet! Wait until the 60,000 Southern Baptists arrive!
Good luck on your closing and I know you'll keep us posted when you hear about a move-in date!

we have found great places for the dogs... although they don't seem to really need it, they've learned to just, well, go wherever - sidewalk, curb, middle of the street while crossing
. regardless where they go, we clean up after them - it's not just the law... it's a good idea!
anyway, there's great green space behind the bankers building at the holiday inn just across the parking lot. really convenient. we go there quite a bit.
i think it would especially not be a problem if you have a puppy since they won't have known any different.
good luck on the condo!

so last night, my wife and i were walking the dogs and, as usual, we walked around the banker's building. the lights were on in our unit. we tried and tried to see in, but all we could see were the tops of the cabinets and the ceilings. oh yea, we could also see the tops of one of the columns.
there was a cherry picker out there that we considering hotwiring but there were cops hanging out so we decided against it.
that was our exciting saturday night!

Watch out!!!!
Owners reminded to scoop the poop By Sarah Newman
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 04/29/2006
This is not a joke, so no snickering, please. Pet owners need to be aware of National Pooper Scooper Week, April 24-30.
Reminding pet owners and guardians of their duty is why the Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists - aka aPaws - created this commemorative occasion.
Cleaning up after your dog is not just the neighborly thing to do. In many municipalities, it's the law.

Glad to hear someone else is trying to get glimpses of their loft. I usually get too much glare to see much, but I do know my dining room light is installed and the fan over the living room is as well. Other than that, I can't see much more but have been told it's pretty much complete except for the final floor finishing and final paint job.

You say that the market is slowing down? in the downtown area? do you have a sense of what the average price is now on washington?
with all of the commercial activity and center construction...the market is slowing? what do you think the growth is going to be in terms of the washington corridor?
the back door was installed today. =D>

sorry about the finger in front of the picture. my dog was pulling me.
stl bound: i don't think he means the market is slowing downtown - everywhere BUT downtown.

Yeah, I was referring to CWE/Skinker Debaliviere. That's where my condo is located and my realtor, who specializes in that area said sales have slowed down some from early spring. I had a realtor's open house today and that yielded a few appointments with their clients.
I still think downtown is booming, so I'm very optimistic about what's happening there. I'm glad to be part of the new downtown!
Mike...great pic of the new door and entry system. I walked by this morning but didn't notice it if it was in then. I didn't see anything different, so didn't do my normal noon time stroll. Besides, I had lunch at Kitchen K and it was packed with conventioneers and my lunch hour stretched into more like an hour and a half. You probably walked right by me and neither of us knew it. I was sitting outside today beacause it was so nice out!

i think the door went in in the mid afternoon. we saw it around 4:30. and sales are slow in U-city too. we had a contract in 2 days but there's a bunch of homes in my old neighborhood that have been for sale for months.

What's with the 615 above the door? I don't remember seeing that before.
Also, has anyone heard how things went with the inspections yesterday?

Hi Brian. I didn't hear anything about the inspections, but I did pass by the new side entrance today and the door was open, so I didn't go in but got a good look at the lobby and it's looking great! Walls are painted and light fixtures are in. They were sweeping up the remaining debris from the floors and looked like they were getting ready to finish them. They're mostly terrazzo and concrete from the prior life of the building so I don't know if they'll leave them or put something new down. I asked a worker if they'd started on the elevators yet and he said they're almost done with the side entrance elevator. Things are looking up!
Mike - I had the realtor's open house on my condo yesterdayand have 7 appointments lined up for showing it already. One person came through once yesterday and twice today and it looks like I'll get an offer tomorrow. My realtor said there have been lots of positive comments and no negatives, so that bodes well for a quick sale.
