For those of you that haven't been downtown lately, the fifth floor windows should all be installed by the end of the week. They're working on the north side of the building now (Brian: at least two of your three windows went in today). they're also finishing up on painting the second story windows which now match the color of the first and third - fifth floors. I'm hoping to see the new marble going up soon!

Thanks for the update. That makes me wish I had my walk-through on Friday instead of monday so I can see the windows in place. Now I'll be able to check out the space through the new windows when I drive by. Yes I do that. Don't you?
Hopefully, the displays will be up sooner rather than later, but I bet they don't open until they get the elevator issue worked out.
On thing I forgot to mention about my walk-through and that I didn't get any pics of was the common area walls on the 3rd floor. They've been painted some nice bold colors instead of just being left white. It really makes the place seem much more modern.

I work right next door so I usually walk around the building at least twice a day to check the progress. Yesterday I called Stirling to let him know the paint on the second floor windows wasn't a perfect match for the rest of the windows. He said he was going right over to check and when I came to work this morning they were putting another coat on in a more subdued green that matches the rest of the windows much better.
Is it the elevators that are holding up the closings? I'd wondered about that. What's the scoop?

I had heard of an elevator issue in Louderman that took 3 months to resolve so I called Tim and asked him about the Bankers issue and if it was the same. He said it was an elevator issue but not the one that Louderman had.
As I understand it, Louderman had a problem with a completed elevator that needed to be completely redone. According to Tim, how I understand it (again), the Bankers elevator is behind because of materials and labor.
Who knows!
btw, did any one get the letter? I didn't.

Thanks for the update, Mike. I didn't get the letter either.

That's funny, I was about to respond with the exact same thing.

I got my letter today, also.
What I can tell you is that they started installing the sixth floor windows yesterday. The seventh floor windows will be custom made (wood) as they have the arched tops on them.
My third floor unit apparently has all the lighting installed now and is pretty much finished except for a final paint job and finishing the cement floors.
Pyramid is three weeks behind, but feel after they start getting second floor people moved in, they'll be able to catch up quickly. They thought June 1 to June 15 would be right in line for my third floor move-in. That's really only a week to two weeks off my original projection, so I'm happy with that.
Second floor....be sure to let us know as soon as you get a closing date. I'd think we'd start seeing that occur next week if it's true that they like to give notice 30 days out from the closing date. Good luck!

Great! I'll be in NYC this Sunday through Wednesday, but will try to log in once in awhile to see what's happening. Have a great weekend!

So, I was at the City Museum last night and when I left I "happened" to be driving down Wash Ave toward Bankers and I decided to swing around back to check out my unit. Since I did my walk-through on Monday, they've put in the windows, and put up all the drywall. It's sweet!

That's great news, Brian! I knew the windows were in, but didn't realize they were that far along on the drywall. It's fun to drive by at night because every once in awhile they'll have some lights on in some of the units and you can see things you can't see during the day as the reflection gets in the way. Keep us posted on the progress!
Does anyone know if they will have grills on the common roof top decks?
- 94
We asked Melanie that question. She said the condo association could decide to purchase some for the building...but I don't think that Pyramid is providing them.
regarding grills: i'm not sure if i remember this correctly or not, but when we were researching bankers, we asked this question. the answer was that the insurance policy that pyramid is getting won't allow grills on the common rooftop decks (don't know about the private decks). the reason it will be up to the association is that we would have to pay more for insurance.
if anyone knows anything different, please feel free to correct me.

I think that we will be able to have grill's on the rooftop decks. We can basically do anything that passes by vote.
On another note, what does everyone think about potentially regulating (or having loose guidelines) what types of window treatments people use. Often times owners use a wide variety of colors / patterns, and sometimes, it can take away from the appeal of the building from the outside. (This could also be viewed as a way for each owner to uniquely modify their unit.)
Any thoughts are appreciated.

That is similar to what I have been told. When I toured the Kirkwood lofts they allow no grills on their patios as well. They told me it was a determination made by the fire marshall. That may have meaning for an insurance policy or may simply mean that the size of the balcony would not meet fire code for permitting grills.

So I checked yesterday to see if the 5th floor was still scheduled for July/August. They told me more like August/September.

So they finally confirmed what we have feared. Before they were saying they could make up the time when they started closing. I'm wondering if they've had another setback...

Dunno. I think we are going to go ahead and put our house up next month and just live somewhere in between.

I'm renting and I just signed a short term lease to take me through the end of September. I was hoping it wouldn't take that long, but if things keep going this way, I might need to extend further.

Hi everyone, we will be living in 407, whenever it is done, sometime in September most likely, hopefully. My husband, Gary, is a high school coach and athletic director and I (Billie) work at WUSM. We are suburbanites making the move from Affton to downtown at the urging of our older kids. Our son is purchasing a loft at Lucas and will be moving in sometime in July/August. Quite the change for us, but one we are looking forward to. Love this forum, it has helped me become familiar and comfortable with our decision. We are doing a pre-drywall walk through this friday and I will try and take some pictures and post. Looking forward to meeting everyone soon.

It's always good to welcome newcomers to the forum, especially when they're in Bankers. I don't think we have anyone on the 4th floor yet, so hopefully you'll be able to keep us updated on the happenings of your floor.
They have posted more progress pics on their website: http://www.bankerslofts.com/progress-20060324.html
One unit looks like unit 205. It says it's completely finished.
The other pics look like other random units.
Let's hope we can start moving in soon!
