There was a crew working on cleaning it last night when I was leaving Jack Patricks to go to the Dubliner to watch the game (can't JP's get a better TV?).

You know, I also think they were installing new windows too.

They have replaced almost a whole row of windows on the 10th floor (I think?) on the West Side of the building. It also appears they are painting the building, the south side with exception of the bottom looks to be completely painted and half the west side is painted as well. The building is really starting to look great, I think it will be a great addition like the PB bldg to the POD.

Yeah that's a Loftworks thing. I don't like that knee level stuff either, but you can change it to a hanging microwave during selections. I don't know of anyone who opted for that kee level weirdness.

i recently saw a microwave that was made specifically to be installed at knee level. i think it was a sharp or something and it opened like a drawer instead of a door.

It's time to pick out cabinets and counter tops. Has anyone heard anything from The Syndicate?

Please try to always post you questions like that in the buildings thread that most likely already exists. Makes our jobs a lot easier, especially when people don't put the name of the building with their questions.

We currently live in Minneapolis and my wife needs to use three days of vacation time before the end of the calendar year. We scheduled a trip to St. Louis starting this wednesday about a month ago and have been exchanging emails with Jessica, as we would like to go through the options process with her when we are there. She was expecting to get the pricing for options last friday, but did not receive them. She has asked the contractor to get her pricing on the options and some customizations we are interested in by the time we get there. Hopefully this will happen. I must say that working with Jessica so far has been a pleasant experience. She has been very responsive to our questions about details of what is included in the base price. She has quickly relayed our requests for customization items to the contractor and has been able to get back to us on many of them. And, she seems very knowledgable about details. Here's hoping the general contractor gets back to her regarding the things we are interested in by the time of our visit.

Very glad to hear of your move to St. Louis. I am not a native either, moved here and love it! Make sure you explore the entire city - from Downtown to Midtown to Central West End to Forest Park and The Loop --- and much more. Ride METRO and enjoy seeing the city by foot. Ganna be cold for St. Louis - but probably not so much for you in Minneapolis. If I was in town - be happy to tour your around the city for awhile. Sorry,,, but enjoy.

I caught the end of the piece on KSDK that covered the accident. Apparently the guy was not using required safety device(s). The big burly site manager was close to tears.

God. I'll probably end up working on this case. I can already tell you what happened .... he didn't have his lanyard on. Its basically a safety rope.

What a shame - might be insensitive to think this way - but I hope it doesn't stall anything .... they shoudl put his name on a plaque or something

They have safety harnesses for a reason. They don't work if you don't wear them. Of course, that won't stop his family from trying to extract money from someone.

Just got an email from loftworks . . .

Syndicate Building construction is full-steam ahead with a 9th-floor model unit opening in January 2007. Homebuyers will be able to make an appointment to take a bucket ride to the display model. The first condominiums available for move-in are on schedule for late 2007

Here are just a few progress pics of how the building is shaping up. It really is quite an impressive building.

Also got some info on selections and upgrades and again, am impressed with a number of the standard finishes and choices. For example, you get Corian® countertops on kitchen counters and islands with full height backsplash and there are a good number of colors to choose from.

The tile choices for the bathrooms are top notch. It is porcelain stone from the Crossville Empire series. Again, there are a number of colors and patterns to choose from. To give you an idea, I used the Crossville procelain stone as an upgrade in my bath at Moon and it was over $3,000. But will worth it as it looks amazing! Nice to see it is standard at the Syndicate.

Really love the look of the kitchen cabinetry as has cabinets that have glass doors that open up instead of out. It is very streamlined and has a great modern look to it. And like the fact that you get undercabinet lighting standard. And there are several choices of wood colors you can select for a nominal upgrade fee. And like the fact that appliances are stainless and that the microwave goes in the island. This way it doesn't mess up the nice lines of the kitchen cabinets.

Also like that they are going with Berber carpet in the bedrooms and there are many color choices, all standard.

I'm really starting to get jazzed about this project. I think it's just going to be a really really nice place to live. And think it's a great value when you think about all the great finishes that come standard.

For all you Syndicate buyers, looks like the value of our building just went up a bit.

This story ran in the Post today. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/lifest ... enDocument

The Roberts Brothers are building $1 Million condos and Jim Cloar is spearheading the development of a great urban plaza adjacent to the condos. This is all just a block or so behind us. Nice to have $1 Million condos as your neighbor!

I still am mad about more than one developer claiming recently to be building the first "green" building when St. Louis is ranked 10th in the nation for how many green buildings or spaces there are.

They need to build this to keep the momentum going for the region's central corridor from Downtown to Clayton

^I think they were just claiming first "green" residential highrise DT. And that would be an accurate statement...but i hear ya, seems like every green project is the first..............

I don't care, they can all claim to be the first so long as they keep building them green. Good for the economy, good for the environment. We should follow Portlands lead in requiring new construction to do it green.

Was able to tour the Syndicate recently and took some shots from the inside looking out. Here is a sampling of what some will have for views. Also got a few night shots to boot.
