So, what brings you here?

I love Stl! I've been reading stl websites for quite some time now. So, it's reasonable to say I probably ended up here through Built St Louis, Steve Patterson's Blog, or one of the many other stl-fused sites I visit often.

What part of the STL are you from?

Well, I spent my toddler years growing up in Hillsdale. My mom realized that it was getting too bad for us and then we moved to south city, the Holly Hills/ So Grand area of Carondelet. I lived there for a long time. Moved out to De Soto in Jeff County in high school.

How old are you?

I'm 23

What do you do, or study?

Right now, I'm serving our great nation in Washington, D.C. as a member of the US Air Force. I'm not currently studying anything, but I know I need to get on the ball.

(The Ultimate St Louis "Get to Know You" question) What High School did you go to ?

I went to Cleveland for a short time, then De Soto.

Hi everyone. I am a newbie here. My name is Christine and right now I am finishing up my senior year at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I am originally from a small town in Illinois near Edwardsville so kinda near STL. The reason I am checking out this board is because I am thinking of going to law school in the fall at SLU. This board seems to be pretty helpful so I figured it couldn't hurt to check it out.

Hello all, former lurker here.

I'm a ten year St. Louis area resident, a Parkway West and SLU grad and a current Wash U grad student. I used to post occasionally years ago on skyscraperpage under the name eradicator (badass handle, I know), if anyone remembers, so it's funny to see some of the same characters (Jive, Gasm, Arch City, Xing) still hanging around.

I've loved the city of St. Louis ever since High School when me and my bored west county buddies would drive around downtown looking for excitement. I feel like this is one of the most interesting and under appreciated cities in the country and glad to see that there are so many other who share this opinion.

I've lived in the St Louis area for all of my 48 years. I grew up in the northwest suburbs and completed 4 years at UMSL.

Around age 18, while attending a party on the south side, I distinctly recall feeling excitement about the density, the bustling streetlife, and the "urbanness" of the city. When I moved out of my folks' place right after college, I came directly to the city.... and I'm still here.

I've enjoyed living in several great neighborhoods and would never even consider returning to the burbs.

I love this city's many attributes, from its treaure trove of architectural gems, to its rich history, to its interesting mix of people.

And when I discovered Urban St Louis, I knew I had found my home. :D

I grew up in NW Oklahoma and lived in OKC for 6 years before moving here a year and a half ago. My wife and I live downtown. We vacationed here in '05 and fell in love with the city. Coming from the south/southwest you don't get the density and the urban setting that is here. Also, the fact that all of the neighborhoods that have their own character and identity is something I love. From the first vacation here the city was like a magnet to me and I searched and found a job with my company up here and since my wife works from home the move was easy. We sold one of our cars and moved downtown. One of my favorite things to do is take friends on tours of the city. I have not had one person that has come to visit that didn't have a great time, whether it be baseball or the smell of fresh baked bread on the hill.

1) I'm here to talk St. Louis City and get in e-fights with computer nerds.

2) Florissant. My dad remodeled our 180 year old Old-Town Home with fixtures salvaged from dilapidated downtown buildings. That, along with the fact that both my parents grew up in North City, has made my exposure to the city very high.

4) I work at the Boeing Company in Financial Analysis. I'm also in the process of obtaining my real estate license, as well as a MBA.

Hey everyone,

I found this site while searching for information about St. Louis and have been visiting this site for well over a year now. I use this site to keep up with the developments going on, and to stay in the loop on everything going on there.

I am currently 26, and I am a mechanical engineer working for a pharmaceutical/medical products company.

I'm originally from Manchester, MO and went to Parkway South High School. After high school I went out of state to college but still lived in St. Louis during the breaks and summer. After college I moved to North Carolina for a year and a half, but now live in the northern suburbs of Chicago in Lake County. I plan to move back to the St. Louis area in a few years.

I look forward to finally posting on here. Great to meet you all!

I had originally had been using this site for quite some time (under name bry456, I couldn't log back and couldn't remember password).

I originally found this site in January 2006 after hearing a friend mention St. Louis in a positive light. After learning about Forest Park, I searched the web for information and stumbled upon this website through Google. The very first thread I ventured upon on this site was about the Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Forest Park land swap issue. After that I became fascinated with everything St. Louis.

I include St. Louis on a list of four cities I have in mind of moving to (others are Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago) after I complete school in 2010.

I'm from the Birmingham, AL metro area.

I am 24, working full-time in retail and taking a break from school. I hope to start back next summer.

I hope to learn more about the city, its government and everything else St. Louis.
