Jfc man. I don’t think you can get more tone deaf than that.
How close is the Target to opening? You'd think they'd be in a hurry to open for the holiday season.

No chance they open and get staffed up before Christmas
Hopes dashed. What a missed opportunity.

I heard through the Prospect Yards Instagram page that the Target is supposed to open sometime in July.
It is my understanding that Target only opens new stores three times a year. June or July is one of the times.jacob_rb_15 wrote: ↑Jan 31, 2024I heard through the Prospect Yards Instagram page that the Target is supposed to open sometime in July.

The best way to those is not by the highways

Target to open this summer in Midtown St. Louis neighborhood
https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/business/target-to-open-this-summer-in-midtown-st-louis-neighborhood/article_25fa154a-e168-11ee-8b96-679605fbf257.html#tracking-source=home-top-storyMidtown's Target is set to open this summer, according to the complex's landlord.
Located on Grand Boulevard between Gratiot and Papin streets, The Edwin, a $60 million mixed-use development that includes nearly 200 luxury apartments and a Target store, brings welcome relief to an area that is quickly developing but lacks major retailers.
“Grand has kind of become a retail desert,” said Michael Hamburg, owner of local real estate company Pier Property Group, which is heading The Edwin. “South Grand has stores and retail but as you travel [north] on Grand it becomes really vacant.”
Pier Property Group announced that it had secured a Target store for the complex in 2021. Hamburg said he knew St. Louis University had been working to bring Target to the area for a while, so he reached out to the company after the developer decided the project should include a large retailer on the ground floor.
Are there anymore plans to add more apartments/retail/non industrial in this area? Not sure what in here is already sold or up for sale that they could add something.
The Steelcote Chouteau LLC owns the parcels at Chouteau and Theresa. My guess is that this could be hotel, or mixed-use so long as they come in strong with Edwin leasing.

^ A hotel may be slated for this parcel... at least it was referenced in a site plan for leasing info.
Great project and hopefully they keep up the momentum as EssTeeEll noted. Another residential and hotel will fill out nicely
It finally dawn on me after looking at the pics a few times, thanks Chris, is that this project is missing two components that are no brainer for urban developments in this time & age. Sidewalk trees or the space to add them & rooftop solar!! Urban areas are heat sumps that only going to get worse and the two very effective means to address the issue is trees (provide relief and mitigate the heat) and solar (carbon free energy literally at the fingertips or in this case rooftops). The silver lining is you can always add them.
