Looks like a nice stadium for the Jags.

I agree. Actually, while the stadium looks interesting (much of it will be below grade), the proposed location is a bit depressing. Relative to anything that matters in Los Angeles, it would be like putting the Rams in Wentzville. I would've liked to have seen a renovated Rose Bowl or Coliseum, but apparently those options were taken off the table a long time ago.

I also wouldn't mind a three-way name swap. Let me explain. As much as I identify with the Rams, and even though Phoenicians have now begun to identify with the Cardinals, I wish Arizona could take the Jaguars name and logos, give the Rams back to Los Angeles, and give us the Cardinals name and logos back. I know, it's a ridiculous and complicated idea, but it makes me wish that we could have had an arrangement in place like Cleveland did when the original Browns left for Baltimore to become the Ravens. That said, I'm all for Los Angeles getting a team, just not the Rams. They may play about as well as slaughtered sheep, but they're our Sheep now. And with the right ownership (now, sans Rush apparently) I think they'll return to their old form before too long. 8)

What about the Stallions?

Seriously though, I do wish the Rams would have changed names after moving to STL, like the Browns-Ravens and Oilers-Titans did.

Maybe Los Angeles should consider it. And if I remember correctly, the colors were purple and gold, just like the Lakers (and the original Kings colors as well). 8)

In other news, the Rams traded a decent linebacker for a 5th round rookie wide receiver that hasn't yet played this season. Doubt he'll make an impact this year, but he could be good for the future.

^ Yeah, but more importantly they got a 5th round pick in next year's draft and freed up salary cap room.

I've heard the guy is a pretty decent receiver in his own right, it's just that the Eagles are stacked with receivers and he'll never have the time of day there.

Spoon played well for us, but his skills seem to be declining, and it was pretty clear that he did not fit into our long-term plans.

If things work out with this receiver, there's one less hole we have to plug in the draft or in free agency. With or without Spoon for the remainder of this season, we would have likely found a replacement at OLB after the season anyway.

Supposedly the 2010 draft will be one of the best and deepest in a long while. The more picks the better.

Now if we could just get the Rams scouts to actually do a decent job the team might have a chance.

The Rams problems can all be solve with a good fight song. (fight might be asking too much from the current players, so I'll settle for a "Heated Argument Song".

I made this up a while back and took a cut a recording it using Garage Band after my daughter thought it was funny. My wife and I have been PSL holders since 1995. This is for the fans that have stuck with the Rams through the ups and downs. Try getting this out of your head.

Jags are more vulnerable than the Rams.

Besides, after talking to Rosenbloom over the weekend, I got the impression he is feeling good about the possibility of the right kind of owners stepping up.

yes, I meant that CR was feeling better about pro-STL interests stepping up.

Also, I was looking at LA attendance tonight and it's almost laughable, all of the non-sellouts (and many games not being close to sold out) back when they were winning in the 1980s with one of the game's all-time greatest RBs.

Not sure why LA is an NFL mecca.

I would love to have a good fight song! (blocked from your link here at work, unfortunately)

I saw an interesting documentary by Barry Levinson on ESPN the other night - "The Band that Wouldn't Die." It chronicled the Baltimore Colts Marching Band, which stayed together and kept performing, even after the Colts left for Indy. They were determined to stay together until the city got another NFL franchise. I love that kind of resiliency.

I agree with Bernie. If any team is Los Angeles-bound, I think it'll be the Jaguars. That said, finding owners committed to keeping the Rams here is still vitally important IMHO, so I hope Rosenbloom is serious about that.

My song is a little bit parody of other fight songs (Redskins) but still highly singable. I think when the team isn't doing great, the fans can have some fun by just being cooler than the other team's fans. I think my song would be a funny one to hear tailgators singing. Doesn't take things TOO seriously and therefore a little edgy.

I went to Oklahoma State University, and back then (as now) we were always the bad football team in the state. But at the first football game I attended, one of the male cheerleaders got on the bullhorn and got the student crowd to chant, "Go You Mothers", over and over. We couldn't beat OU, but our fans were a lot cooler than the stodgy old OU alumni fans. And I was thinking to myself -- "I think I'm going to like it here."

So, according to Sports Illustrated, the Rams are the most likely franchise to move to LA, beating out the Jaguars, Chargers, and Raiders.

According to a VP with the company building the stadium in L.A. (on Bernie's radio show last week), the Rams are the least likely of those teams to move.

Well, I know it's not much given the team's situation, but it was still Spagnuolo's first win as an NFL head coach.

I can't say it was the most exciting game, as it was amazing that the two teams actually managed to squeeze a football game in between all of those penalties. But I certainly enjoyed the Steven Jackson Show (149 yards and a touchdown) and the FG fake that led to the Daniel Fells touchdown! 8)

They've been talking about how long it will take this team to be a true competitor........how about right now? They still have to proove that they can do it week in and out, but yesterday was so refreshing. Plenty to improve on, but that was the most fun and excitement to hit the Dome since Dallas.

I challenge any naysayers of STL football to find more energy and spirit for a 1-8 team. Yesterday was just plain fun. --section 153.

I agree, I have to say that even with the Loss I am so happy today and I am very excited for the future.

One game sure, but I loved when Spags took over and I like the progress that the team is making. Yesterday was fun as heck to watch. I was not at the dome, but I have tickets the next 2 weeks and I am ready to get some W's!

Gibson looks to be a good pickup, and when Laurent Robinson gets back next year, our WR will be much improved. I still think we need a solid vet WR though.

Any way Go RAMS!

We have two sets of PSLs, one in 138, the other in 159, and I was in 159 yesterday. The Rams fans were chanting "Who's house? Our house!" loudy to drown out any Saints fans' cheering - it was awesome. Some older gentlemen sitting behind me were just about ready to fight some young punk Saints fans in our section, which was great to see.

The home games have actually been a lot of fun this year. The Rams have been able to hang with some very good teams. The Cardinals will present a tough matchup next week, but the Rams have got to be feeling good about their chances of competing with them. I think they can knock off Seattle and possibly Houston.

I'm hoping we can keep our string of sellouts alive. Somehow, watching this 1-8 team is actually enjoyable. This team has a lot of fight in it.

I have said it all along that Spagnola is doing a good job considering his talent. I expect the rebuilding to take place over 3 years. The thing you want to see is improvement each week, each season. We are seeing that, for now. Let's hope it keeps up. I'd like to see the Rams draft a quarterback and keep Bulger to mentor him, unless you can find a better veteran free agent. You can now see what establishing a running game can do for an offense. Now that Jackson is playing so well, the Rams have opened up the pass. Keep up the good work, progress!
