Rams are trading Bradford to Philly for QB Nick Foles.
Both a sad and fairly exciting day. I really wanted to see Bradford succeed here, but can't blame the organization for shedding his salary for something more secure. Ultimately Bradford probably a better QB, but hopefully a healthy Foles can deliver the ball efficiently, consistently, and effectively. The move could help free some space for other components such as Joe Barksdale on the line.
Surprising given the last few weeks' words from Fisher, Snead, and company. Hopefully the teams' lip service applies to on-field matters only......

i still think Bradford is a 4000 yard 30TD 65% completion rate QB if he plays 16 games but at this point will he ever play that....
dumping 13million, getting a 4th round and 2nd round pick (2016) would have been enough in my book- but also getting a decent QB in return is a steal....Im not sure about Foles yet, i guess he will have this year to prove himself but i dont see him as a long term solution.

I would have preferred to take another shot with Sam but this is a business. You can't argue with the cap relief. I like Foles he went in a really talented draft for QBs, and he reminds me a bit of Flacco. I think it's time for a new, successful, era of St. Louis Rams football. Hopefully along with a new quarterback comes a new stadium, division (AFC South) and new uniforms.
I really like this concept I found online, but I would change the shade of blue to our current navy blue. The dorky collars are gone, the horns on the helmet are thicker and positioned better. The horns on the shoulder pads look terrific. Hopefully any re-design of our white jerseys gets rid of the off-color on the sleeves, never liked that.

Seems that an overwhelming majority of Eagles fans are not at all happy with the trade. Something like 80% disapprove.

It will be fun to try figuring out what chip Kelly was thinking.

Could they not get a hold of the other 20%? I don't know how any Eagle fan would think this trade went in their favor.framer wrote:Seems that an overwhelming majority of Eagles fans are not at all happy with the trade. Something like 80% disapprove.
Once the stadium thing hopefully pans out in our favor, it will be cool to watch what happens with the uniforms. I can't get Demoff's teaser out of my mind from 1-2 years ago when he said changes were coming. Not that they already haven't pulled the fan base through the mud, but dangling things like uniform changes over our heads and then pulling out of town is extra dirty pool. Uniforms are low on the totem pole of team priorities, but I love discussions about them just the same.
I agree with a simpler design over all and bringing the horns back on the sleeves to frame the numbers, I've always liked that.

Ayers and Fairley to an already decent defense. If we can bring Barksdale back and get Wisniewski, all of the sudden a few of our weak spots are brightening up.

There must be 9 wins in there somewhere.
Already conspiratory rumors on various sites about "the move" announcement coming around the time of the Thursday Night Game December 17 with 2 road games on the west coast to follow.
Dave Peacock bobble head night TBD.

I have a beef with those two picks: especially Minnesota outside. But PIT should be a win for the Rams.gary kreie wrote:How about this for 9 wins:

Rams have the 6th toughest schedule in the NFL, but the easiest in our division.
I didn't see Gurley coming. The O line better look a lot different by Sunday.
It looked like BPV had a decent crowd for the Draft Party.

A few thoughts as the roster takes shape:
To me this is looking like a .500 team given their history unless the secondary proves they are no longer consistently vulnerable, the offensive line is not a complete disaster, and the defensive front doesn't have the "slow start."
I'm optimistic that with a starting-caliber quarterback in there week in and week out, the offensive will be more productive, but again, it hinges on the line. I think anything less than a winning season is a real disappointment, but it looks difficult to pull off. I hope Fisher's omnipresent confidence finally translates into consistent success.

^So hard to get into this team, with the looming relocation. I am motivated to attend some games, since NFL football could be a thing of the past here. I hope they are good this year, contending for a playoff spot. Maybe 20K will bump up to 40-50K, if they are good. I am expecting the numbers to be depressing, further fueling the 'St. Louis is a bad NFL market' or 'St. Louis is baseball town' malarkey.
I don't see it being that bad, personally. Maybe I underestimate the apathy. The same could have been said for the "potential last season" in STL last year and the averages were in the upper 50s. Now the team should be better and the addition of Foles, Gurley, and a continued strong front 4 should make up for some fans' distance due to relocation....especially if they come out of the gate with a few wins. For better or worse, I think opposing fans will continue to fill a good amount of seats as has been the case since they started losing. Ticket sales are ticket sales.
I agree with you, I'm extra motivated by the possibility of this being it in my lifetime for NFL in STL and getting to all the home games. I salute fans like my dad who have stood by their PSLs since 95. It should be an interesting year at the Dome no matter how you slice it.
I hate that relocation gets in the way, but for now, actual Xs and Os are a nice distraction. The radio discussion regarding new offensive coordinator, evolving running game, new QB, new look linebacker corp, and the increased list of guys to fill in on the defensive front has been fun to listen to....if only that was the whole story.

I agree. I wish X's & O's, new players, new coaches and new hope, were the focus. Unfortunately, this dark cloud is above us.
At least last year, we could cling on to some hope that Stan was using Inglewood as a pawn in the game, to get STL reps moving, light a fire. Then we had Bernie blabbing that he does not think Stan will move because that is what he told him. Then Demoff claiming "Stan is a real estate developer. There is no reason to believe he'd move to LA. " There were so many reasons to believe everything would work out here in STL. Now that we know Stan's true intentions and it is public, it is hard to focus on football.

I went to Rams Camp this afternoon at the Earth's capital. Dave Peacock and his two sons were there before they head back to college.
I believe I detected that the Rams are working on a new play called the Peacock Blitz. If the team shifts toward the West, two defensive players run right up the middle and force the ball to get thrown hard into the Stan.

Real ugly. The talent is there, but there's plenty of reason this will be one long, miserable final season.blzhrpmd2 wrote:It's preseason.....but it's also ugly.
Here is a different read on Rams from Wall Street Journal that doesn't have to do with a stadium
http://www.wsj.com/articles/how-the-ram ... 1442257224
The St. Louis Rams conquered the defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the early surprise of the season. Their spectacular special teams and run defense, which stuffed Seattle star Marshawn Lynch on a fourth down in overtime, had something to do with it.
So did their innovative plan for teaching millennials.
The Rams have the youngest team in the NFL. Like most workplaces, the Rams were inundated with employees whose habits were vastly different from those of their the bosses. As coach Jeff Fisher put it: “Our players learn better with two phones and music going and with an iPad on the side,” he said. “That’s new.”

Pretty interesting. That was a great game Sunday. I thought the crowd looked bigger than some crowds last year, and the crowd was very loud. Nick Foles noted that the crowd noise caused problems for the Seahawks. They hate playing here.dredger wrote:Here is a different read on Rams from Wall Street Journal that doesn't have to do with a stadium

I noticed leaving the stadium that the crowd looked unusually young. Maybe the original 1995 PSL holders have finally turned over and this younger more enthusiastic crowd is taking over. The real hard-core. My wife and I stopped at Robust as we left to let the crowd thin out. There were quite a few Seahawk fans there and it appeared were staying at the Embassy Suites. Quite a long trip to see your team lose.
