I was at the Rams game and then watched some of the game on replay when I got home. The announcers kept making excuses for the Broncos mentioning repeatedly all the injured players out. I was thinking the same as you -- no mention of the Rams losing their starting QB, left tackle, and tallest wide receiver. Quick who would have been the guy on that corner of the end zone throw. At least Denver had their HOF QB in the game. I haven't heard his name mentioned much but Hekker was awesome for us also in that game pinning them deep repeatedly with great punts.

What would it cost to bring back the temporary scaffold towers and raise the EJ Dome Roof up about 40 feet to leave space for tall windows at the top of the stands all he way around to let in more light? And then build a new outer shell on the South and East Sides, like this one, to expand the dome footprint? I don't find the seating half bad -- just a little dim.

This team is something else. I don't even know what to say except classic Rams football. So predictable that they would have trouble on defense today.

that was a weird game, fox couldn't help themselves from showing the LA fans, the entire media really wants to see them back in LA, it's so annoying and I couldn't help but feel disrespected. Anyway, Schottenheimer has to go, he pulled this crap last year for MNF against the Seahawks. Just run the damn ball. And the refs were after us again all game. Still, here's another game we should have won. I think that makes 3 or 4 now.

I'm pretty much at a loss for words, even though I keep trying. It was one thing to blow this opportunity to string wins together. But to do it like that. It's just really, really gut-wrenching.

This team is perpetually on the verge.

I really enjoyed the game even though we lost it gives tidbits on what this team can become. They'll regroup and compete. Oakland is here this weekend should be another fun and tough game.

^Classic St. Louis negativity.

He's been here a couple years. In one of those years has his starting QB been healthy. We're 4-7 right now in the toughest NFC division having beaten both super bowl teams.

I'll laugh so hard if the NFC division winner is like 5-11 or 6-10 and makes the playoffs.

The NFC is screaming tough right now. Also, their are tons of great franchises with losing records; that's the environment of the NFL. Completely writing a team off because they're having a tough season is like writing the city off because someone was jumped in front of culinaria.

Have some faith, friends.

^ That's all true, but you know the Rams aren't being written off because they're having a tough season.

They're being written off because they've followed up a brutal 5 or 6 years with a mediocre 3 years.

Yes there are reasons for that, some beyond team control. But I don't blame fans for losing patience.

Classic STL negativity? By expressing frustration that they can't beat a mediocre team? That they can't win back to back games? That the much hyped defense can stop a powerhouse like Denver, but lack the scheme, execution, and adjustment capability to stop a recently fumbling San Diego offense past the midpoint of the season? That we can make questionable draft choices to move up to get an 8th overall "weapon" that we don't know how to use who scores his first TD in week 12? I don't care if they were 4-6 or 9-1, that was a winable game not just in theory but in reality in the last seconds-and the type of game that good teams find a way to steal, and bad ones let slip away. I can handle the losing, it has become the norm for far too long. The frustration is in the Rams consistency to be inconsistent.

I enjoy watching this team a lot, and I do think that Fisher has them poised to be very very good, but words like potential, poised, "almost there" are far too common in the third year of his control. Starting QBs going down and other injuries happen to all teams and adjustments and preparations for those scenarios need to be in place. Many have argued that administration did a poor job of QB planning this year.

When I say "The motto of the Fisher" era, I mean he says over and over that they are doing the right thing and they will get it fixed. At some point that has to translate into actually getting it fixed with a winning streak. Sure, there are plenty of great franchises that are horrible right now, but there are plenty that are competing that were terrible few years ago....I'd like to be one of those soon. It doesn't matter if you can beat Super Bowl contenders if you blow huge leads and lose to the middle of the pack the rest of the time.

Sorry for expressing a little frustration with my team as an invested fan.

This team can win the next 2-3 games. If they lose to Oakland then yes i would be heartbroken but the biggest thing is that this team is playing with heart believe. I stand behind them win or lose as i always have since they first moved here. Maybe they should try to bring a Thanksgiving Day game here to St.Louis but that will likely never happen

At least we're both invested. I get the frustration. But we have a decent NFL team and we have a team that won a Super Bowl recently. Fisher, I think, is a great coach that is putting the pieces together.

All of it I'll take over not having a team.

Agreed, mediocre football certainly beats no football at all.

When Fisher first came here, I remember reading a fair amount of Tennessee fans jeering the decision, essentially saying get ready for mediocrity, STL.

While at the time I brushed it off as sour grapes and was very excited to get a time tested NFL coach, I'm starting to wonder if our expectations should be adjusted based on Fisher's track record. He has 6 winning seasons out of 19 as a head coach. He seems to be a coach that players love and respect, which we desperately needed, and his ability to make the Rams relevant should be commended. However, he really doesn't deliver a consistent winner if history is any indication of what will come. It took him five seasons before cashing in a winner.

Hopefully we can cap on one of his few dominant performances while the team is here and I know we all hope that is long term. First things first....just beat Oakland at -6.5 this week.

Availability for a clever local NFL reference beats no availability for a clever local NFL reference.....

For the record, the Keep the Rams in STL facebook guys launched an "STL RAMS" sign challenge for this game in response to the LA faithful's showing in SD. I'm out of town and won't be down there but it will be interesting to see if it amounts to anything.
Opposing fans have inhabited the seats next to my parents every week for a long time now, I'm curious to hear later this evening if Raider fans followed suit.

The NFL executives have favorite teams and towns. St. Louis isn't one of them. They put us in the NFC West so darling Dallas could stay in the NFC East in the last realignment. Few folks move here from the West Coast. But when we play a midwest team, we get tons of local fans of those team buying out the stadium, along with their Rams fan relatives. Imagine if we played in the NFC North, or AFC North? The NFL is not going to give us a Super Bowl -- new stadium or not.

Every city has tons of out-of-town fans nowadays, especially when the opposing team is nearby with recent success. Lots of folks have moved here from nearby towns and only have to shell out for one game per year, vs. a whole seasons for Rams fans. So they pay more. Tony Romo complained in Dallas that too many fans sell to the other team. But when you have pay a huge amount for season tickets, and you see that the Rams themselves are offering to re-sell your ticket to an anonymous buyer for a huge profit, it is rational to try to recoup some of that cost. At a Dallas Chicago game in Dallas last year, the Chicago fans were so loud, I assumed it was a Chicago home game when I heard it on the radio.

WOW what a shellacking Rams put on those Raiders. I didn't think this was going to be a blowout game i really thought this would be more of a shoot out game Raiders 27 Rams 33 but would i never imagined a 52-0 win.. This team can easily finish the season 9-7 or 8-8 .
Lets go Rams!

Our third phase is getting sick. Long is back. Mason is going to be insane next season. The lynchpin is the QB position. Does Fish double down on Bradford? Does he scrap him for another franchise QB? Bradford looked great before the injury. He's so injury prone. It's a tough choice.

We'd be playoff material in any other division, and it's happening with Shawn hill taking snaps.

I was thinking about the Rams being in the AFC West a couple months ago. Switch San Diego into the NFC West with San Francisco, Seattle, and Arizona.

Along with winning games (of course), I think seeing the Rams in a division with KC, Denver, and Oakland would drive up interest. Makes too much sense to happen though.

To be fair Dallas isn't that much further west geographically speaking than St. Louis. It kind of makes sense given the strong rivalries Dallas has with the Redskins, and Giants, and the potential for a big STL rivalry with Phoenix. Of course IF the Rams had stayed in LA, and St. Louis had gotten an expansion instead of Jacksonville we would be in the AFC South, and have local rivals Nashville, and Indianapolis and not too far away the Texans which would be far better for everyone.

I really don't understand why they chose Jacksonville over St. Louis in the first place.
