To be fair Dallas isn't that much further west geographically speaking than St. Louis. It kind of makes sense given the strong rivalries Dallas has with the Redskins, and Giants, and the potential for a big STL rivalry with Phoenix. Of course IF the Rams had stayed in LA, and St. Louis had gotten an expansion instead of Jacksonville we would be in the AFC South, and have local rivals Nashville, and Indianapolis and not too far away the Texans which would be far better for everyone.

I really don't understand why they chose Jacksonville over St. Louis in the first place.
If the Rams do not relocate, then they should just switch divisions with the Texans. Its not like we have any natural rivalries with Seattle, San Fran or Arizona. Likewise, the Texans don't really have natural rivals in Indy, Tennessee or Jax.

Rams, Colts, Titans, and Bengals would make a great AFC North division. Really, the whole NFL could use realignment.

But wow what a beatdown yesterday, we're not that far off. Just gotta hope Sam returns to health and we can pick up an early round backup to groom.

I'd support this, but curious what do the Texans get out of it...?

^Houston and New Orleans are natural rivals - I'd put them in a division together. Texans Saints Buccs Dolphins.

If all the teams stayed where they are your map makes a lot of sense. But i wouldn't put the Jets and Giants in the same division. I'd swap one with Buffalo to spread the new york pie a bit.

Raiders or the Chargers could even move to LA and not screw up the map.

^True on both points - It was just a personal call to put Buffalo Baltimore Cleveland and Pittsburgh in the same division. NYC is just too glitzy to be in such a division - maybe if they were renamed the "Jersey Jets" lol. But then again, NYC would work well as the white collar foil in a blue collar division.

Another great team win by the Rams results in another shut out which is sensational albeit out opponents records weren't the best 3-19 still quite impressive and when you have very good wins against Seattle and Denver and could of should of beat both Cowboys and Eagles this is a very tough team to play against. Rams have a legit chance at beating the Cardinals ... Go Rams

Ive always maintained that the Rams would stay but I'm slowly headed towards the other side and that they are out of here. Despite all the rules in place to make sure a team cant just leave and that it cant just leave when there is a viable stadium option on a table i think this will be the first time in NFL history that a team will leave with a viable stadium option on the table from its current city. Reason this time its different is that the NFL wants not only A team but 2 teams in LA and this window right now is probably its one chance to move 2 teams...Rams are one and then whoever doesnt get a stadium deal from the current city Raiders or Chargers within a year will be the 2nd team in LA.

What's the point of putting two teams there? I understand that LA is a massive media market, but there's a reason that the Rams and Raiders didn't work out there before.

Glazer: Los Angeles 'closer than ever' to having NFL teams

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/glaz ... ers-120714
The time is coming for Los Angeles to have professional football again. And get ready for at least one, but probably two teams, according to FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer.
According to Glazer, the thought throughout league circles is that the Rams are the surest bet to go back to the City of Angels. But you can expect two teams to move to Los Angeles.
The surprise? That the San Diego Chargers are still in the mix, as well, despite the prevailing thought being that the Oakland Raiders might move back to Los Angeles.
According to Glazer, Los Angeles is "closer than ever" to having a franchise.

I'm really going to miss Burwell because he was so straight forward and honest and preached his facts so i'll hold onto his comments and still say Rams stay here in St.Louis. for a few reasons. San Diego isn't any closer in building a new stadium and they clearly stated that they won't build the Chargers a new stadium and Raiders don't want to do a year to year lease and the city of Oakland simply doesn't have the money to fork out for a new stadium and it seems like the state of California is more willing to put money into L.A. getting a new stadium than Oakland which leads me to believe Oakland and San Diego will likely lose their teams. I do think eventually residents here will begin to support the team however we'll see what Thursday will look as i wanted to go too the game sadly i work over nights so that won't work.
I could be very wrong on all of this however i do feel like bringing the NFL back to L.A. should be done in expansion and rearranging divisions. I also feel like L.A. is actually the worse supporting NFL cities there are . I won't say St.Louis is great however St.Louis did support the Cardinals a lot and they have supported the Rams i just think people are turned off by the fact not knowing if they are staying or going so thats probably the reasoning people are staying away..

Couldn't the Rams move and STL get an expansion team?

There won't be any main land expansion teams. If the NFL expands it will be London and or Toronto. If we lose the Rams, that's it for NFL in st.louis

Expansion teams should not be wanted by football fans. Business-wise, I'm sure it's a great idea. But expansion teams are a great way to water-down the on-field product. In fact, in baseball circles a lot of the debates between old-time greats versus recent greats often involve the argument that past players competed in a league with fewer teams, where many players on today's rosters wouldn't have had even an opportunity to make it to the pros.

Next years Rams opponents 2015.

Home:

Arizona Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers
Seattle Seahawks
Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions
Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Away:

Arizona Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers
Seattle Seahawks
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings
Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals
Washington Redskins

I like that four home games are Midwest teams that will have a lot of local fans. Of course we are always stuck with the three most distant division opponents of any team in the NFL.

^I'd love it, but no way.

8-8 and here's hoping I'm short changing them, but until they prove otherwise, we are still the worst team in our division.

But if we control for population growth and overseas recruiting, we should be able to support even more teams than we do currently.
