Southwest extended their schedule today into March (spring break)

Montego Bay and Punta Cana each got an extra flight. Will run Sat and Sunday.

Pensacola comes back early. Charleston and West Palm Beach are back.

No new adds.

No decreases though, which is good considering the MAX issues. Ugh, I hope that's all resolved soon - 2020 could be a huge year for SW at Lambert if the issues are fixed within the next few months.

^Sidebar - I just flew in/out of Denver....that airport kind of sucks.  I feel like I always read how great that airport is, but man it's dated.  Yes, the linear-ness of the terminals is nice, but good god is that place stuck in the mid-90s.  Portions of signs were burnt out, carpeting looked old, dot-matrix style scrolling LED signs, old chairs, lack of charging stations.  Was not impressed, as I haven't been through there since the late 90's.  Doesn't appear I missed much.

I hate their security line. Looks so permanently temporary. I understand security at airports has changed a lot I just done like how it's done there.

^ At DIA I always cross the skybridge and use the checkpoint for A Gates regardless of what concourse I'm flying out of.  Then I just take the elevator down to the train level and go where I need to go.  Almost never a line in there.

I'd also agree with ricke002, it is quite dated.

And to get back on topic, I'd say the issues with Ferrovial don't bode well for privatization here.

Denver whether it be its recent Convention Center expansion issues and or its airport is the poster child of how contracts can go bad on public work projects.   The projects are big, complex and expensive.   However, don't even come close to understanding on how their massive transit expansion seemed like it went a whole better then what I have reading in trade magazine articles when it comes to the airport as of late.

I did the skybridge, too.  Didn't seem very organized, nor did it seem any faster than the 2 main lines.  Also, the damn airport is like halfway to Omaha!

Is the trend now toward separate smaller terminals -- one for each major airline -- and then one more for the basket of remaining airlines?  Unlike pre-regulation, folks rarely if ever switch airlines on a layover.  So we don't need one giant connected monster terminal anymore.  Easier to navigate individual smaller terminal like say Boston, or even Chicago vs Dallas, Denver, Atlanta style.

YES! Atlas Air will begin flights at STL beginning October 17th.

https://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/new ... mbert.html (FYI Paywalled)

Not sure what routes, frequencies, or birds they'll be flying. FWIW Atlas was doing job interviews here for 777 pilots a few months ago.

Atlas' all-Boeing fleet includes 737s, 747s, 757s, 767s, and 777s. Their parent company, Atlas Air Group, operates under the brands Atlas Air, Polar Air, Southern Air, and Titan Aviation Leasing.  Together, they operate the world's largest fleet of 747s.

This is laughable!  St. Charles contributes basically nothing to the metropolitan region and now they complain?

Well, that's kinda true, but also somewhat false.  St. Charles county is home to 350k+ people and some large employers like Citi, Mastercard, etc.  Now, does that mean they should have a say in what happens to the airport?  Nope.  Just as they would say the city shouldn't be worried about or try to influence infrastructure projects in St. Charles either.  This is just an opinion piece that wont affect anything moving forward.

The arrogance and entitlement are incredible here.

STL is operated by the City of Saint Louis - NOT St. Charles County. One cannot demand a share of the proceeds of their favorite business' acquisition just because you're a big consumer of their product. Only equity holders are due proceeds from the sale of their equity. If you don't pay for the business' operations other than from consuming their product, then you're not entitled to the business. If you don't assume the risks of the business' operation on your balance sheet, then you have no say in its operations. Just because planes fly over St. Charles County does not mean that St. Charles County gets to make demands of the disposition of equity from an airport lease; otherwise, I'd be due revenues from all the helicopter flights that go over my condo near the highway and hospitals.

What is this guy, another radical St. Charles County Communist? Wanting something for nothing? Come on, Steve...

^ Seriously, I was going to say the same thing.  The airport has been owned and operated by the City since it's inception as a municipal airfield.  While I hate St. Charles County on the whole, I've always thought Ehlmann had a pretty decent head on his shoulders, especially regarding his opinions on the region's addiction to floodplain development.  But this is just ridiculous.

Free idea for Regional management of Lambert- STL County, St.Charles Co, Franklin and Jefferson Co pass a 1/4 % sales tax for a regional airport fund, which would raise $50-60m a year. Pay the City $15m a year in perpetuity & use rest for airport improvements
