I personally think they should put a rental car facility at the North Hanley metro station. They already have the trains running to it (you can add more if needed). There is a ton of surface lot there that you could put in a garage if needed. Should be pretty easy. No need for busses. Which also helps the congestion problem at T2 if you remove the busses.

And they can't put any kind of tower over b concourse. The control tower is there so unless they build another one somewhere that wouldn't work.

I'm going all in on the dream - a TWA inspired hotel tower with new control tower as part of the new build that includes lower observation deck as lounge for the hotel.   Separate elevator banks to properly secure the control tower as well minimizing risk of controllers taking pre work pit stop.

I think the new TWA inspired hotel at JFK has a pretty cool observation/lounge deck that got over ran by plane spotters until they started charging minimums for non hotel guests.

It's a good thing I don't have to rent cars in stl, because our set up is a pain in the ass.  I absolutely hate off site rental centers. I flew in and out of BWI last week, and getting to and from their rental car center is brutal.

Ameren Solar Farm Operational at STL (pictures on Fb and Twitter)

https://www.flystl.com/newsroom/stl-new ... perational

The Ameren Missouri Lambert Community Solar Center, located on land owned by St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL), is now fully operational and providing solar power to customers.

The Ameren Missouri Community Solar Program, which is owned and maintained by Ameren Missouri, was launched in 2018, has proved to be extremely popular. Customers can utilize solar power without having to install or maintain solar panels on their property, allowing access to renewable energy for many customer who would otherwise not be eligible. The program sold out in 55 days and the wait list continues to grow.

“We are pleased to be part of Ameren Missouri’s efforts to provide more solar energy to the region,” said Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge. “This partnership is just one of the ways STL is able to use land protected under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations while also allowing Ameren Missouri customers to limit their ecological footprint, something STL is committed to as well.”

“Opening the Ameren Missouri Lambert Community Solar Center is one of many steps we are taking toward bringing renewable energy to our customers," said Michael Moehn, chairman and president of Ameren Missouri. “Expanding our popular community solar program by developing additional solar facilities gives even more of our customers the opportunity to benefit from renewable solar energy and moves Ameren Missouri closer to its goal of providing 100 megawatts of solar energy by 2027.”

The new Ameren Missouri Lambert Community Solar Center is the latest example of how STL is committed to increasing environmental sustainability. STL has also partnered with Ameren Missouri to help decrease energy usage both in the terminals and on the airfield. STL has replaced thousands of traditional fluorescent light bulbs with LED light bulbs through Ameren Missouri’s BizSavers Program, resulting in annual savings of over $500,000.

The rumor mill is swirling with reports that BA is looking to add another TATL flight later this week. Very unlikely to be STL-LHR at this point, but one can hope.

Agree it probably isn't us.

Also, the rumor came from a ramp worker at LHR. So I don't exactly put much stock in it that they are right. But we'll see.

I saw your post on airliners as well jshank, what but of info makes you think we’re not in the running for these? If you’re able to share.

Rhonda said at the AV event that BA isn't much of an option anymore. They still talk some but at this point it isn't likely. Now maybe that has changed between now and then but I would be surprised if they add us. I think Dublin and Frankfurt are our most likely options at this point.

Rooting for Dublin or Frankfurt here. Either of them would be fantastic.

I’d think there’d be a number of more eligible cities for a Dublin flight than St. Louis. Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Charlotte, or Fort Lauderdale where Aer Lingus’ partner JetBlue has a hub.

Depends on if they want to go into somewhere with competition or where they can have the entire market. Denver, Dallas and Fort Lauderdale are too far for the A321 anyway so those shouldn't factor in. Also, I would imagine incentives will come into play. Bigger airports aren't going to give them anything. STL probably would.

Looks like Alaska is making some changes to SAN and SFO.

Includes cutting our San Diego route. Last flight Nov 4.

KC is losing San Diego and San Francisco.
Looks like other cuts also.

Sad to see. Just more effects from the MAX grounding and/or VX merger or was SAN not performing as well as they'd hoped anyway?
