^ Interesting perspective given that PreCheck is free with many credit cards. I can't imagine why people would still want to wait in security line unless you don't travel often (once per year or less).

I would've thought the majority of people only fly once or twice per year.

I thought about PreCheck, as I fly a few times a year pretty reliably. But if I fly with my wife it wouldn't do me any good (she doesn't fly enough to justify it), and I usually fly to Newark which doesn't have a PreCheck line.

I fly once or twice a month out of terminal 2. These flights are mostly 8am or earlier and the security line is almost always "out the door" and recently I've seen the second security line open (over by Sbux).

Randy, I think your confusing Priority Access with TSA Pre-check. Two different items and haven't seen many cards willing to foot the TSA fee of $80 something if not mistaken.

Priority access still requires the shoes off, laptop out of the bag, any coats and coats off with the full body scan unless you take a pass. Take a pass and you have to go stand and wait for pat down.. TSA Pre-check lets you keep the shoes on, laptop stay in the bag, and you can usually go through the metal detector with belts, light coats. Considerable difference in time savings once you got a good crowd and large amount of carry ons

There are a number of credit cards which will pay for TSA Pre-Check ($85) or Global Entry ($100).

Obviously, they are premium credit cards which carry a significant annual fee but, in some cases, can be worth the price that you pay for them.

One example is the Citi AAdvantage Executive card ($450/year) which includes AAdmirals Club membership (which costs $350-500/year, depending on your AA status).

Another is the Citi Prestige card (also $450/year) but includes AAdmirals Club access (valid only when flying American), a $250 annual air travel credit and fourth night free on hotel stays.

I think the key is that you're still talking about a subset within the subset of people who fly frequently enough to make those perks worthwhile.

^ Agree, not many people carrying credit cards at those annual fees. Most likely a small biz owner or individual at an executive level where a company will pick up.

Interesting to note that airlines serving KC, including Southwest, want a single terminal development if they proceed with replacement, expansion as reported by biz journals

Hello, big favor to ask. would anyone happen to have an overhead view of the airport with the terminals labled "A, B, C" etc....
I really enjoy watching our airport return to relevance however i have problems understanding when people mention specific terminals and gates. Any help would be appreciated.

You can also just look at the satellite view in Google Maps and read the gate numbers painted on the ground outside each gate.

Just arrived in Denver where it is snowing. Terminal 2 was hopping but security was moving well. I walked down toward D concourse and it is all still there, just separated from E by a roll-down screen. A number of elderly veterans were changing planes - many of them in wheel chairs to get to their other gate, and everyone stopped stood and applauded.

Flew out of Terminal 2 and the new gates area - used E33. Very very nice and large seating areas. E31 has the international arrivals on it. The jetway is large and accommodates the larger planes.

On E33 side the secured international arrivals feature the flags of several countries with STL immigration/customs entry and E31's secured international arrivals area features the flags of Peru and Great Britain. Interesting enough - there was two flights departing here for London and Lima. Obviously arriving here too. Charters I assume, but nonstops.

I've heard that the expanded area looks nice, hopefully whatever new stores and restaurants are added soon as well. Also didn't they recently add Global Entry registration facilities here recently as well? Since before to complete it you had to go to O'Hare or some other place outside of St. Louis to do it.

http://news.stlpublicradio.org/post/lam ... t-airlines

Looks like this would bring in some added airport revenue to do further improvements. Also mentioned being able to lower to landing fees which has been an issue here. This would help make it easier to attract new flights.

Also note later next week Southwest extends their schedule through the Holiday season. Guessing not too likely anything new, but more some seasonal shifts that normally occur; but overall showing the sizable year over year increase. Though if Southwest did start any Mexico/Caribbean service here, wouldn't it tend to start in the winter?

There was an employee Q & A with American Airlines Director of Corporate Communications Elizabeth Mach last week which included the following question:
Q: I am a 27-year flight attendant and am just curious – do you have any plans for expansion in St. Louis to bring more flying and International back where TWA routes went all over the road?

A:We’re always looking for new opportunities to expand our domestic and international service from where and when it makes sense. For now, there are no plans for any STL-International flights. We operate an average of 40 flights per day to all nine hubs from STL, so customers have options to travel to other domestic and international locations.

That's a no brainer. AA has no international flights from most major cities unless it is their hubs. STL International knows that AA is not where they plan to expand internationally. It will be will carriers like Southwest, British Air or Lufthansa.

and quite frankly - AA offers the worst service internationally (IMO) than any airline. I will never fly them again!

I fLew in from LAX on American and we deplaned at C28. This area was active with people waiting at all the gates between the two walls constructed to close of sections of the concourse. It seems to be in use but why was it not renovated with the rest of the C gates? This is just passed the first people mover that takes passengers up one level into the addition FYI.

Hopefully they'll get up that way. C28 doesn't even show on their maps.

It did except brighter. That picture looks like the windows are covered up. Also there was that carpet over the people mover. Thought that was a funny touch.

Isnt' those last couple gates in question only open about a year ago, after the renovations in C were completed? Since for some reason I remember them adding those around a year ago since AA needed it. Guessing they will renovate that area eventually, especially if they need to go down another gate or two. Not sure how likely that would be in the next year or two, guess is if JetBlue starts serving here they would go there.

Not sure what's going on here and I can't even tell by reading the comments. :?

So....maybe I shouldn't be commenting.......

But if they are using carpeting over the people mover and passengers have access to it, that's ghetto.

Real ghetto.
