So long as Rockwell’s actions weren’t intentionally designed to screw over their tipped staff, I don’t really care.

Labor regulations change with every administration and if you can’t afford to pay some $500/hr attorney to keep you apprised, mistakes will happen and you may get busted (especially if you’ve got a disgruntled (ex) employee or two).

I find this intriguing.  If any long time Rockwell fans recall, they made a huge deal about not taking tips when they opened because they paid their staff a "living wage".  they went so far as to display the message at their POS.

To find that they relatively recently started collecting tips and have not been giving them to employees, leading to this outcome, reads poorly.

They stopped doing the initial "livable wage" thing pretty quickly after opening and moved to a regular tipping system.  My understanding was the original founder who pushed for that got forced out by the investors he took on to build the place.

Great to see 4 Hands expanding to ramp up production and add a beer garden:

Lights were on and work was being done in the old Twisted Roots buildings on FPP today. Not sure if that means anything, though.

Urban Chestnut Midtown is opening a "smash burger kitchen" sometime soon after Christmas, per their email blasts.

I hope that is the start of a rebirth of that location to some better//more consistent hours of operation.

^They always needed more food options. The sandwiches were . . . fine? But not especially memorable.  That should help. I really like that location quite a lot better than the other when the beer garden is open.

I still think the power house or whatever it was at the SW corner of Delmar and DeB would be a great place for a brewery.

Well, this is a nice addition to the Princeton Heights neighborhood. Czech it out this summer! https://www.saucemagazine.com/a/60053/little-lager-will-open-in-princeton-heights-in-summer-2023
Little Lager, a beer bar dedicated to lager in all its forms, will open at 5848 Hampton Ave. in Princeton Heights in summer 2023. The bar will serve about eight to 10 lagers on side-pour taps imported from the Czech Republic, with a selection of canned lagers also on offer.

This looks like a fantastic concept. These small scale, passion project, brewpubs are perfect third places and I hope to see a similar concept open in my neighborhood.

^We still had to take down Pennsylvania in the end, and they're no pushovers. Neither is Colorado. I think they missed with their 19 seed. We've got some pretty dedicated beer snobs. Not sure how they came up with the seeding.

After all, one only rents a fine lager.
