I don't think there are any plans for a new campus. The Pevely site is part of the Medical Center Campus. The new dorms proposed for the Frost (Grand Center) Campus are because SLU wants more of the current student body to live on campus. Right now about 40% are on campus, and they want it to be 50+%.

Note that both renderings (this one and the Gries addition) are schematic designs. The schematics were by KWK Architects. A different firm -- Hastings + Chivetta -- is doing the final designs... which we haven't yet seen.

Almost looks like a small medical center.

Yeah... the actual design is worse than the schematics. Those green pyramid roofs were on every strip mall built in the 1980s. It looks dated.

Agreed. Looks like they're sticking with the Griesedieck Tower playbook, which harkens all the way back to 1963. Boring.

Its no Adventura (thank god) now is it a park east tower, for me its not the worst thing in the world but it leaves much to be desired.

I guess they wouldn't recognize good design if it came up and kicked them in the head.
The worst part for me (it was hard to choose as there were so many great candidates) is the street level change from the sleekish floor-to-ceiling glass to closed in brick walls with 70s style high windows.

Here's a rendering that hasn't been discussed yet... per KWK Architects:

Based upon what appears to be the Forest Park Parkway interchange with I64 in the background, I would guess that this will replace Grand Forest Apartments.

^Well, I wouldn't mind losing the low-rise buildings, but those mid-century mid-rises are some of my favorites.

It looks like this project would only replace the dumpy little bungalows between those mid-century towers and the parking lot behind Chaifetz.

This rendering reminds me of the Wash. U. housing on Forest Park Parkway on the southwest corner of where Throop Drive/the parking garage lets out.

Marchetti Towers would still be there, this would only replace Grand Forest.

Realize, though, that this image is from the Master Plan. SLU is using a different architect for their actual building designs. Based on the building planned at Spring, the actual design would not be as nice as the design in the planning document.
