Those with the lower hot tubs aren't really going to have much privacy from the top penthouses, are they?
The spire is actually a very expensive holder for an FAA light.
And on 24 they will be installing trellis structures with covers for privacy so the hot tub can be enjoyed in peace.
My plan is to build a ladder from my floor to 24 and sneak up late at night for hot tub access. I will tell my date that I lost the key and we have to go up through my friends house and that my neighbors are a real pain so we have to keep it really quiet.

Hello Forum,
My name Louis Shaikun and I am with Fifth Third Bank. We are the bank which will be taking retail space on the 1st floor of the Park East Towers. We are headquartered in Cincinnati, Oh and are the 10th largest bank in the U.S. Our footprint is in approx 11 states. I will be the Financial Center Manager for our CWE location and am a native of St.louis for 37yrs. I am very excited to be part of the ever changing and growing CWE landscape and to meet all our new neighbors.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at our Clayton banking center at 314-721-2078. By the way, there will be no drive thru.

By no means was this meant to be an advertisement. There has just been a lot of questions as to who was taking the retail space. Sure i will have coffe for you, but it will not be as good as starbucks.
I lived in the central west end for about 3 years off debaliver and My folks lived in the Greystone for 13 years and recently moved to Florida. I have spent a lot of time the lst 15 years down there. Thats why i chose this location.
Thanks
Louis

I think it's cool that the bank and Mr. Shaikun are getting involved here. (Mr. Shaikun, you can send my free toaster to Apt. 2201, thanks.) This gives us a great opportunity to share our ideas with the commercial tenant.
Mr. Shaikun, a few of us our concerned about the retail tenant being an eyesore on the corner. Do you have any samples of what your banks look like in residential neighborhoods?

Sorry, we do not give out toasters, but we are currently giving mini george foremans's. 5/3 is moving aggressivley into the st.louis market with 2 branches currently(Kirkwood/ Clayton) and 6 more by december this year and 30-40 total in the next 5 years or so.
Most branches are in residential area's, and built from ground up on lots purchased. This is rare to be in a City atmosphere, but our interior lines are very clean and ext will have to conform to the CWE. We hope to bring some good things to the community. hope this helps somewhat.

As long as it conforms to the standard 5/3 architectural 'style' I'm cool. You'll need the shutters - plenty of severe weather here.

That is a picture of the branches we are building in the residential ares. But we do use very clean lines, all brick ect.
thanks Louis

The post for the bank is fine by me as long as it is in this thread, but only this thread. They are an actual tenant after all.

"Fifth Third Bank's history can be traced back to June 17, 1858, when the Bank of the Ohio Valley opened in Cincinnati. The Third National Bank organized five years later, on June 23, 1863, and on April 29, 1871, the younger bank acquired the older one, beginning a 130-year history of banking acquisitions and mergers, with numerous smaller banks being absorbed and renamed.
Fifth Third's unusual name is the result of the June 1, 1908 merger of two banks, The Fifth National Bank and The Third National Bank, to become The Fifth Third National Bank of Cincinnati."
"In the modern U.S. the term "national bank" has a precise meaning: a banking institution chartered by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency."
So the Fifth bank that was chartered acquired the Third bank that was chartered by the OCC.

Isn't 5/3rd disrupting the St. Louis banking market where major players already exist? What will Fifth Third do for St. Louis? US Bank and Bank of America give out free monies or deal rates for rehabs and other projects that rebuild St. Louis.

I wouldn't call giving consumers more options disrupting a market. I personally bank at BOA, because of their large ATM network, but for savings rates, money market accounts, CD's, they're rates are not very competative. 5/3, I'm sure will cater to many different markets and I'm sure they would not enter the market if they did not feel they would be competative.

Not sure about the spire, but Emporis lists the "structure height" as 330'.
To my knowledge there is no common area on the roof. The top two floors will belong to someone and not even residents in the bldg will be able to access those floors. I think you will need a special elevator pass to get access.
If they ever try to sell the place and do an open house I wonder how many people will go just to check it out.

Has anyone on this forum, or perhaps someone they know, purchased a Westminster unit? Have you/they made any modifications to the floor plan? Of course, anyone with any floor plan is welcome to reply, I am particularly interested in the Westminster changes.

Another question
Does anyone recall the pre-construction pricing?
Again, anonymity can be preserved by sending a pm.
