It's been a week and no new pictures. That's so wrong. But honestly, thanks again to those of you who are kind enough to take and share your pictures here on this site. I am a thousand miles away and love being able to keep tabs on my apartment to be. It's a miracle I found this website.

Has anybody passed by recently, how is the storefront looking? Any ideas regarding who is moving into the commercial space?

I see the tower everyday and there's really no progress outside to report.

The base is still a mess and looking at it I'm not sure that I like the color of the tower because it's the same freakin' color as BJ Hospital. I also wonder how soundproof those windows will be with tall of the noises of the hospital right there, including the helicopter.

I had lunch at some Greek restaurant across from the tower on Wed and didn't see any major changes. If there is something I'll be sure to let you guys know.

PS. There is a really cool model of what the PE tower will look like completed with the PE lofts. It's in the sales center across the street.

Thanks for the update St.Louis UAB alumni.

Does anybody else live in the neighborhood who can tell me how bad the sound is from the hospital. I lived in the Park PLaza for a few years and I don't remember it being that bad. Is it much worse on Laclede?

i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure the hospital is a few blocks south of park east. I doubt you could really hear much from there. btw, what kind of noise are you speaking of? ambulance sirens? I mean, does a hospital emit any more noise than any other office building? not mocking just curious?

I would think helicopters would be the main sound concern. The pads are a few blocks south, so that helps some, and I would think a building with brand new glass would have pretty good sound insulation. I would think there would be some noise, but no more than any other new building would have.

The tower's in my back yard and I live in an old building, and often keep my windows open. The noise is rarely, if ever a problem. Even then, it's usually ambulances, and you'll be further above the street than I am, with new windows, so I wouldn't sweat it.

I guess I was just worried about the helicopter. I live in Manhattan where sirens and garbage trucks are all the rage, but not a lot of helicopters landing and taking off around here. Sounds like it's not a problem. Thanks guys.

Taken on the way into work.

It's hard to drive and take pictures without looking through the view finder.

If anyone was cursing a green Subura on WB64 this morning yelling, "learn how to drive." Sorry.

I just checked the Park East Tower website and they claim only 3 homes are left. Wow. Has anyone moved in yet?

I'm really loving this tower from a distance. Nice peaked shape, nice modern look. But, darn all that orange concrete on the base!

this building looks incredible, love trying to look at it from various points in the city. Framer, I totally agree about the base though. A WALL of concrete. The rendering had more windows.. overall, still a huge fan.

It's really amazing how far away you can see the building from now that it's topped out. I love seeing it pop in and out of view when I am driving up kingshighway to the CWE or SLU. Really looks great above floor 6. And that pic from the highway is great. It's been said before, but all the suburbanites seeing the Park East rise is great for the city.

Opus just sent me a new picture of the building, bird's eye view. If anyone wants to post it, email me at dashalove@msn.com and I'll send you the pic. Maybe I'll try later to post it myself but I never figured that out the last time I tried to learn. Good day, hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks for posting the pics Xing.

Does anybody want to guess why the last 3 units available at the Park East are all the "Lindell" unit? This is a 2 bed 2 bath facing Forest Park. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the bedroom set-up isn't as private as a potential owner might want. The bedrooms are right next to each other on the same side of the apartment. On the other hand, I think the deck/patio overlooking the park is probably the best one in the building, even better than the regular penthouse units which have the patios divided. Is it possible people just prefer the Arch view to the Park view? What do you gents & ladies think?

Out of curiosity, how much are they asking for the "lindell" units?

Pricing from September of '05 the Lindell units ranged from $584,000 all the way up to $654,000 for the 18th floor unit. This of course doesn't count the price increases from that point to now, but that should give you a ball park price range. In my opinion this may be one reason why, with the great views of the park (and of really beautiful sunsets... and they are beautiful) aside, there are three of them still available. Damn I wish I had $700,000 just laying around.

I don't know if anyone is paying much attention to this bldg anymore since it's almost done and 99% sold, but I have some pictures taken from the 22nd floor of the bldg and will post them this weekend while on break. Just trying to generate some buzz for the CWE. Seems people are generally much more excited about the downtown LOFT developments. Not that I'm surprised, a lot more development is taking place down there. But still, the CWE needs love to.
