I LOVE THIS, But I doubt this gets built. Neighbors WILL kill this.

I don't see this happening. Views of Forest Park aren't really blocked by any homeowners and most neighbors are rentals. I think this moves ahead quickly.Chalupas54 wrote:I LOVE THIS, But I doubt this gets built. Neighbors WILL kill this.

Yep. It's an architecturally unique and interesting building, it will certainly draw the eye when coming from the west and south.Ebsy wrote:lmao is that real?
That's the idea according to STLTodaywabash wrote: Maybe the outward slanting floor-to-ceiling windows will make the ceilings look and feel higher than they really are.
Yes. When I saw the number, it seemed small to me too.wabash wrote:Does 385 feet for 36 stories seem a bit short to anyone else on a per floor basis?
The numbers could be different on Monday. It should be 400 feet tall for height per floor so the residents don't feel crammed.arch city wrote:Yes. When I saw the number, it seemed small to me too.wabash wrote:Does 385 feet for 36 stories seem a bit short to anyone else on a per floor basis?
What is that? 8 foot ceilings - maybe 9" in the living unit?
Have you gauged neighbor support for this project? I'm extremely concerned that the NIMBYs will kill it or that it will fall into the usual 'delayed for years and then forgotten about' cycle that is St. Louis. What are the odds that this actually gets built without it being completely redesigned or scaled down/back?ward17 wrote:Alex--good guess. Thanks for helping publicize the town hall meeting. Post will have details and rendering shortly.
The NIMBYS should be happy that they won't have another parking lot in their back yards. They should support the project. It's the people in the Chase Park Plaza and other building surrounding this site that will probably be against it. Why? Because the people who live there will possibly think their views will be ruined and apartment rent goes up.stlgasm wrote:All the more reason to attend the public meeting to express support for the project. The city belongs to ALL of us, and our voices deserve to be heard too. I think NIMBYs will have less of a problem with the tower considering its location, surrounded mostly by apartment buildings (not condos). And this point needs to be driven home loudly... it's either this or a PARKING LOT.
