Cool, June is great. I can't wait to see it. The reason I said it didn't exist is because Geo st. Louis doesn't recognize it as an adress, or an actual parcel of land in St. Louis. Strange. Maybe I'm wrong, but I spent some time on it yesterday and it wouldn't come up.
Vis-a-vis Randall's, God help them when they apply for their liquor license.

I believe they already have their license and what does Vis-a-vis Randall's mean?

I have driven by this place several times I thought it looked good from the outside. Damn, I love the inside!! This will be a great addtion to the neighborhood.
The old Budweiser sign out front was lit up last night when I drove by.

that looks great! and the limestone addition is amazing! I didn't think you could get a limestone veneer to look like that anymore (though "before" would have been load-bearing i suppose). I'm so used to seeing factory-produced looking "lick 'em stick 'em" thin stone veneer that has a phony look to it. I am really impressed.

Thanks IRTP for the great pics.......I had no idea the extent of work they are doing on the inside.....looks very promising
Looks phenomenal. I hope it keeps its integrity and doesn't sell out like Paddy O's, or end up like Hraboskys.

You will not have to worry about that. This will be a totally different beast. Did I mention that they will have private wine tasting rooms down in the lower level?
I parked in the lot across the street from this place when I went to the game the other night. It looks like most of the work is done, but there is still paper up on the windows. How far away is the opening date? I can't wait!
From the Sauce Magazine website:
Three levels of fun in Soulard
Both foodies and music-lovers will be interested to learn that co-owners Mark Disper and Dan Schmitt will debut their Old Rock House at 1200 S. Seventh St. in Soulard next Monday. The music venue/restaurant aims to be “a cross between Annie Gunn’s and Mississippi Nights,” according to manager Charlie Winkler. The three-level entertainment complex features multiple bars, a music venue and – at least for now – limited dining (paninis, cheese plates and salads). Check the August issue of Sauce Magazine for more details.

^ Rome wasnt built in a day. I am sure it will take some time to land quality acts.

Or maybe not. It's possible this is the type of act they are aiming for. In my experience, crappy cover bands out draw "quality acts".

Yeah, that sounds really plausible, CS. The owners went through all of the trouble of saving a collapsing structure and building a historic looking addition just so they can book Jimmy Buffet and Sammy Hagar cover bands every night. That's what they meant when they said they want it to be like a Mississippi Nights meets Annie Gunns. I heard they will take care of the Annie Gunns part by serving White Castle burgers and cheesesteaks.
I bet Downtown 2007 is right. They just went through major construction/rehab and the timeline on that is not always concrete. Major acts have to be booked months in advance. What is worse, opening with a bunch of minor acts or booking solid acts and running the risk of pissing them off because the place isn't ready or the sound system hasn't had its kinks worked out yet?
A nationally known act would be pretty pissed and might not return if all of the kinks are not worked out and/or the support staff doesn't seem to know what it is doing. I'm pretty sure that "the Smash Band" is just happy to play in front of a crowd.
